Itinerary
Day 1
A relaxed, romantic day on Vespa along the Amalfi Coast. Starts in Amalfi with briefing and safety check; follows the coastline with photo stops in Atrani, Furore, Conca dei Marini, lunch in Praiano, time to wander Positano, and finishes at Villa Cimbrone in Ravello for a romantic terrace moment.
Meet & Vespa briefing — Amalfi Port (pick‑up / check‑in)
Meet your guide at the Amalfi port for rider briefing, helmet fitting and Vespa handover. Safety instructions and quick route overview — necessary before departure.
Tips from local experts:
- Bring your passport and international driving permit if you plan to ride; otherwise pre-book the local driver option—guide will confirm via WhatsApp.
- Request a single-seat Vespa for a more intimate ride or ask for a tandem if you prefer to be a passenger; the guide will help fit helmets for two.
- If you’re arriving by ferry, ask to be dropped at 'Porto di Amalfi' — it’s an easy 2–5 minute walk to the meeting point and there are benches while you wait.
Amalfi quick stroll — Duomo & piazza
Short guided walk in Amalfi’s center: a chance to see the Duomo di Sant'Andrea, grab a quick espresso and admire the marina before continuing along the coast.
Tips from local experts:
- Head straight to the Duomo steps for an iconic couple photo — the façade is especially photogenic in morning light.
- If you want a small souvenir, the narrow streets behind the Duomo have local shops selling lemon-themed gifts and Vietri ceramics.
- Cobblestones can be uneven — wear comfortable shoes for the short walk from the Vespa parking area.
Atrani panoramic photo stop — Italy's smallest town
Stop for a postcard view over Atrani’s pastel houses and narrow piazza — a quiet, romantic snapshot of classic Amalfi Coast life.
Tips from local experts:
- Park the Vespas at the top viewpoint if possible — the view over the tiny piazza below is the most romantic angle.
- This is an excellent place for a quick lemon‑granita or gelato for two; seek out a shaded bench on the square.
- Atrani is compact — avoid walking down the steep staircases if mobility is a concern; the viewpoints are accessible from the road above.
Fiordo di Furore — dramatic gorge photo stop
A short stop at the Fiordo di Furore for dramatic cliff-and-sea photos — a wild spot perfect for intimate, cinematic pictures.
Tips from local experts:
- The viewpoint above the fjord is best for photos—ask your guide to position the Vespa for a sweeping coastal backdrop.
- Avoid lingering on narrow shoulders—use the official lookout area for safety and better angles.
- If you both enjoy hiking, there are short steps down to small viewpoints; for a romantic moment keep it short and return to the road for comfort.
Grotta dello Smeraldo viewpoint — Conca dei Marini
Quick viewpoint stop near the Emerald Grotto entrance to admire the color of the water and the tiny coastal cove — optional boat entry if you wish to return later independently.
Tips from local experts:
- Boat entry into the grotta is seasonal and has separate opening hours; use the viewpoint if you want to keep the tour relaxed.
- The light here creates an emerald shimmer in late morning — perfect for a romantic photo with turquoise water.
- If you plan to enter the cave another time, note it requires steps and a short boat ride; bring light jackets during spring breezes.
Lunch in Praiano — relaxed seaside meal
A leisurely lunch at a local seaside spot in Praiano to enjoy fresh seafood and coastal views together (one-hour sit-down).
Tips from local experts:
- Ask the guide to reserve a table with a sea view so you can toast with prosecco — ideal for a couples' moment.
- Order a sharing plate (antipasti misti) and a local white wine to sample regional flavors without rushing.
- Bathrooms and shade are available at most seaside restaurants in Praiano — request a shaded table if it’s sunny in May.
Scenic Vespa ride along SS163 toward Positano
Enjoy one of the most iconic coastal drives — curving roads, postcard views and small lookout stops en route to Positano.
Tips from local experts:
- Sit back and enjoy the wind in your hair together — ask your guide for a scenic pull‑over spot for a couple selfie.
- The road is twisty; secure loose scarves and hats before departure and use the helmet straps for safety.
- If either of you prefers not to ride, request the guide to arrange the passenger seat or a local driver — comfort first for a romantic day.
Positano — wander the alleys & Spiaggia Grande
A longer stop to stroll Positano’s steep alleyways, shop for linen or sandals, and enjoy the beachside vibe with gelato or espresso together.
Tips from local experts:
- For a romantic photo, climb the steps behind Chiesa di Santa Maria Assunta for an elevated view of the town and sea.
- Try a lemon dessert at a local pasticceria and take it to a quiet terrace—Positano’s alleys have many small romantic niches.
- Be mindful of steps and crowds; choose a quieter lane away from Spiaggia Grande for a more intimate stroll.
Scenic transfer up to Ravello — winding hills to hilltop romance
Climb from the coast up into the hilltop town of Ravello. The ride offers sweeping panoramas — a gentle change of pace before the final special moment.
Tips from local experts:
- The climb to Ravello is steep — hold onto jackets and enjoy the slow reveal of the coastline together.
- If you prefer a quieter ride, ask your guide to skip crowded pull‑outs and head straight to the panoramic arrival point.
- Keep cameras ready—the road to Ravello has several dramatic viewpoints perfect for golden‑hour portraits later in the day.
Villa Cimbrone & Terrace of Infinity — romantic special moment
Visit Villa Cimbrone’s gardens and the famous Terrace of Infinity for a private-feeling viewpoint. Toast, take photos and soak in one of the coast’s most romantic outlooks.
Tips from local experts:
- Plan a small toast here — ask your guide to carry a chilled mini bottle of prosecco so you can toast on the Terrace of Infinity.
- The Terrace can be breezy in spring—bring a light wrap for comfort during late-afternoon photos.
- Timing is key for photos: the late-afternoon light (even if not full sunset) gives soft, flattering tones — position yourselves facing west for the best glow.
