Itinerary
Day 1
Boarding & sailing experience
Guests can participate in the sailing experience if they want to or just relax and enjoy the ride and the sun.
Tips from local experts:
- Arrive 15–20 minutes before the scheduled start at Marina Vela to allow time for check-in and a safety briefing.
- Bring a light jacket for the open-deck breeze at sunset; temperatures drop quickly once the sun is low.
- Keep valuables in a small waterproof pouch; the crew will point out secure places on board for phones and cameras.
Swim stop with SUP and water toys
We will make a swim stop at anchor or at sea (depending on the weather conditions) to refresh and enjoy the beautiful water of the Mediterranean Sea. Stand Up Paddle Board and floaties will be provided.
Tips from local experts:
- Use the onboard snorkel gear and rinse-off facilities; bring a towel and a change of clothes in a quick-dry bag.
- If anyone in your group gets seasick, take motion-sickness medicine before the stop or stay on deck in the fresh air.
- Protect your skin: apply reef-safe sunscreen before entering the water and reapply after swimming.
View Sagrada Família from the water
Watch the iconic Sagrada Familia from the water and enjoy Barcelona's skyline from one sight.
Tips from local experts:
- Keep cameras ready during the coastal leg closest to the city; the Sagrada Família is most photogenic from the sea-facing angle at dusk.
- Ask the crew for short commentary about the skyline to know when you'll pass the best viewpoint for photos.
- If you want phone-stable shots, use a wrist strap or small tripod—there can be small boat movements during the approach.
Sunset over Tibidabo and return to Marina Vela
Enjoy the reds, oranges and yellows from the sunset behind mount Tibidabo.
Tips from local experts:
- For the best sunset view, position yourselves on the windward side of the boat as directed by the skipper; bring a warm layer.
- Order drinks early from the crew if you'd like a toast during golden hour; glassware may be plastic on deck for safety.
- Notify the crew if you need assistance boarding back at the marina—they will coordinate a calm, step-wise return.

Why this experience
You'll spend four hours on the water—double the sunset tour—sailing along Barcelona's full coastline from Port Olímpic southward toward Castelldefels. Unlike the sunset experience, this sail happens mid-day or afternoon, giving you time to swim at a quiet beach stop, lie on the boat's deck, and really slow down. You'll have snacks and beverages throughout, and the crew points out the city's landmarks receding behind you as you move past Barceloneta, beyond the tourist zones, to quieter stretches of the Mediterranean.
What makes this feel different is length and immersion. Two hours isn't enough time to truly relax on a boat; four hours lets you shift gears completely. The swimming stop is the centerpiece—you jump in at a calm spot, cool off, and re-board to dry off with a drink in hand. It's tactile Barcelona in a way that stays on land doesn't capture.
Best for couples or friends who want a half-day escape from the city proper, who enjoy water, and who don't mind spending a full afternoon on the sea.

Frequently asked questions
How cold is the water? In summer, 20–22°C; in shoulder seasons (May, September), 16–19°C. Most people find summer swimmable; spring/autumn requires a higher tolerance or rash guard. Wetsuits are available.
What if I don't want to swim? No problem. You can sunbathe on deck, read, or simply relax while others swim. The boat stops regardless, so you can also just dip your feet in.
