Itinerary
Day 1
Full-day private cruise from Bergen into Osterfjorden and up to Modalen with waterfall stops and a dock in Mo for lunch. Standard meeting is outside Torget 2 (2 Torget) or outside the Tourist Information at Strandkaien 3; boarding begins before the scheduled departure time.
Boarding and cruise into Osterfjorden (pass Nordhordland Bridge)
Meet your crew outside Torget 2 (2 Torget, Bergen) or at the Tourist Information near Strandkaien 3 for boarding. Depart Bergen by sea and cruise under the Nordhordland Bridge into Osterfjorden. Watch the coastal landscape shift to deeper fjord scenery over the course of the hour.
Tips from local experts:
- Arrive 10–15 minutes before the scheduled departure time to board promptly at Torget 2.
- Complimentary coffee/tea, bottled water and snacks are provided on board; wine/beer and additional items are also available.
- Boat has a restroom and onboard WiFi—store essentials in a small bag for easy access during the cruise.
Cruise through narrow fjords to Modalen (waterfalls and fjord scenery)
Continue up the 27‑km Osterfjord towards the narrower branches near Modalen. Enjoy increasingly dramatic waterfalls and steep mountainsides; the crew will point out notable features en route. This leg includes close fjord-side viewing and time cruising among narrow channels.
Tips from local experts:
- Bring a waterproof outer layer and warm mid-layer—rain often intensifies waterfall displays.
- If you plan to swim or take a waterfall-shower, have a swimsuit and towel handy; you can change using the onboard restroom.
- Keep small electronics in waterproof cases or dry bags when near waterfalls and spray.
Waterfall stop — viewing and optional waterfall-shower or swim
The vessel will stop at a waterfall that cascades down to the fjord. Guests may experience a waterfall-shower or swim from the boat where conditions and safety permit. Crew will brief guests on safety and assist with boarding/entry where needed.
Tips from local experts:
- Follow the crew's safety briefing closely; the crew will advise whether swimming is permitted based on conditions.
- Footwear with good grip helps when moving on deck; bring a quick-dry towel and dry clothes for afterwards.
- The activity is not wheelchair accessible and infant seats are not available—plan accordingly.
Dock at the village of Mo — lunch and quiet village exploration
The boat will dock in the village of Mo. Guests may disembark to visit the small local café for lunch and to explore the village independently. Alternatively, you may choose to have lunch onboard while cruising. This stop provides time to enjoy the quiet fjord village atmosphere before the return leg.
Tips from local experts:
- If you prefer lunch ashore, allow 30–60 minutes; the local café is small and menu options are limited—plan accordingly.
- Notify the crew before arrival if you'd like lunch served onboard instead of at the café.
- Village paths can be uneven; wear sturdy shoes and allow extra time to reboard the boat before departure.
