Itinerary
Day 1
Departure from Bucharest, scenic drive through Prahova Valley, visits to Peleș Castle and Bran Castle, evening in Brașov with overnight at a local 3-star hotel.
Hotel pickup and transfer out of Bucharest
Pickup from centrally located Bucharest hotels; meet your driver/guide and begin the drive north toward the Prahova Valley.
Tips from local experts:
- Have your hotel voucher and room name ready for the driver at pickup to speed boarding.
- Expect hotel pickups to start before 08:00 so be ready in the lobby 10 minutes early.
- Keep a small bag with essentials (water, camera, light jacket) accessible for the drive.
Prahova Valley — scenic stop
Short scenic stop in the Prahova Valley for photos and a brief stretch of the legs among mountain scenery.
Tips from local experts:
- Bring a light layer; mornings in the valley can be cooler than Bucharest in spring.
- Use the restroom before leaving the minivan; public facilities at roadside stops are basic.
- This is a quick photo stop (about 20–30 minutes) — keep valuables with you during the brief walk.
Peleș Castle (The Royal Castle) — Sinaia
Exterior and optional interior visit to Peleș Castle, the former summer residence of Romania's royal family. Note: entrance fees are excluded and, if desired, paid on site.
Tips from local experts:
- If you plan to enter the castle, bring a government ID; some ticket desks require it for certain ticket types.
- Interior visits require moderate walking and some staircases; wear comfortable shoes.
- Photography rules vary inside — ask staff before taking photos indoors and keep personal bags secure.
Transfer toward Bran (lunch en route — not included)
Drive from Sinaia toward Bran. Lunch is not included; the driver can suggest roadside or town restaurants en route.
Tips from local experts:
- Plan for a 45–75 minute transfer; bring any required medications or snacks for convenience.
- If you prefer a specific cuisine (vegetarian option available by prior notice), tell your guide before departure.
- Carry cash for smaller local eateries; larger restaurants typically accept cards but smaller places may not.
Bran Castle (Home of Vlad the Impaler / Dracula Castle)
Visit the famous medieval fortress popularly associated with the Dracula legend. Interior entrance is optional and not included in the tour price.
Tips from local experts:
- Entrance fees are paid on site and queues can form at peak times — keep tickets and ID handy if you pre-purchase.
- The castle has narrow staircases and uneven floors; this stop is not suitable for participants with severe mobility issues.
- There are souvenir stalls outside; if you plan to browse, allow an extra 15–20 minutes after the visit.
Piața Sfatului (Council Square) — Brașov
Guided walk in Brașov's historic main square (Piața Sfatului) with time to explore the medieval streets and take photos of the city center.
Tips from local experts:
- Watch for cobblestones and modest inclines; comfortable shoes are recommended for wandering the square and nearby lanes.
- If you'd like a quiet photo, early evening near the square walls offers softer light and fewer crowds.
- Restroom options inside cafés or municipal facilities are limited; use facilities during a café stop if needed.
Check‑in and overnight at a 3-star hotel in Brașov
Check-in at a centrally located 3-star hotel in Brașov (overnight). Evening at leisure — suggested romantic walk in the old town to enjoy the atmosphere.
Tips from local experts:
- Check-in times vary; standard check-in is usually mid-afternoon — the driver will assist with luggage at arrival.
- If you want a quieter room with a view, request it at reception on arrival (subject to hotel availability).
- Dinner is not included; ask the hotel reception for recommended nearby restaurants with a romantic ambiance.

Tips from local experts:
- Breakfast is included at the hotel; check opening time to ensure you have sufficient time before departure.
- If you'd like a short viewpoint, the area near the Council Square provides pleasant cityscapes without steep climbs.

Transfer from Brașov to Prejmer
Short transfer east of the Brașov Depression to the fortified church complex at Prejmer (UNESCO).
Tips from local experts:
- The transfer takes around 30–45 minutes depending on traffic; use this time to rest or prepare for the site visit.
- Bring a small bottle of water for the short walk around the fortified church grounds.
- Public restroom options near the site are limited; use the hotel's facilities before leaving Brașov if possible.
Prejmer Fortified Church (UNESCO World Heritage)
Visit the well-preserved fortified church of Prejmer, an important example of Transylvanian defensive ecclesiastical architecture. Entrance fees are not included.
Tips from local experts:
- Entrance fees are paid locally; carry small change in lei (RON) as some ticket points may prefer cash.
- The complex includes narrow passages and steps; the site is not fully wheelchair accessible.
- Allow time to walk the defensive walls and interior courtyard for the best understanding of the fortifications.
Return transfer to Bucharest and hotel drop-off
Journey back to Bucharest with planned hotel drop-offs in the late afternoon. Enjoy live commentary from the driver/guide during the return drive.
