Itinerary
Day 1
4-hour Fan Experience Day session at Whiskey Ranch. Example session shown starts at 09:00; an afternoon session commonly starts at 14:30 and follows the same structure.
Arrival & Check-in — Ranch Clubhouse
Arrive at the Whiskey Ranch Ranch Clubhouse, check in, receive your Whiskey Ranch T‑shirt, and get a short orientation and safety briefing before exploring the property.
Tips from local experts:
- Arrive 10–15 minutes early to complete check-in and get your T‑shirt without cutting into the main program.
- Bring a photo ID for check-in and any liability forms for minors if required by guardians.
- Use the Ranch Clubhouse restrooms before heading to animal areas—facilities are located at the clubhouse.
Barnyard Buddies — Meet the Animals & Photo Ops
Guided, family-friendly opportunities to meet Highland cows, miniature horses and donkeys, and Kevin the camel. Staff will help with safe photo opportunities and supervised interactions.
Tips from local experts:
- Supervise children closely around large animals; hold small children for photos when staff recommends it.
- Bring a camera or phone with plenty of battery—staff will help position animals for photos but may not hold devices.
- Avoid bringing loose food; treat-based feeding will only be allowed under staff supervision if provided by the ranch.
Cattle Sorting Demonstration — WR Cowboys in Action
Watch a live ranch demonstration featuring roping, pinning, cutting and sorting. Demonstrations are staged outdoors with seating/viewing areas; staff provide brief commentary on ranch techniques.
Tips from local experts:
- Arrive at the designated viewing area a few minutes early for the best sightlines—seating is limited and may be outdoors.
- Young children should be seated at the front with a supervising adult to prevent standing in walkways during the demo.
- Expect outdoor dust and animal noises; bring a hat and sunscreen for comfort during the demonstration.
KC BBQ Ranch Meal — Ranch Clubhouse
Enjoy a curated Kansas City–style barbecue meal served in the Ranch Clubhouse. Soft drinks are included; a cash bar is available on site.
Tips from local experts:
- Notify staff in advance of any food allergies or dietary restrictions during check-in so they can accommodate where possible.
- Seats are family-style in the clubhouse—plan to sit together promptly when the meal is served to keep serving lines moving.
- Bring small cash for the on-site cash bar and any incidentals; some retail purchases may accept card but signal at check-in if you prefer cash.
Retail Browse & Optional Horseback Trail Ride Sign-up
Browse the Whiskey Ranch retail store for boots, hats, and apparel. Guests who want to ride may sign up for limited horseback trail rides (availability is first-come, first-served and based on staffing).
Tips from local experts:
- If interested in horseback rides, sign up immediately at the retail/registration desk—rides are limited and often fill during the session.
- Retail accepts common payments; if you want specific boot or hat sizes, try them on before leaving since styles vary.
- For families, check child age/height limits at the sign-up desk; some trail rides have minimum age or weight restrictions for safety.
Farewell & Departure
Final time to use facilities, take last photos, and say goodbye. Staff will be available for questions and to confirm any follow-up arrangements.
Tips from local experts:
- Use the final 15–30 minutes to check restrooms, collect belongings, and confirm any souvenir purchases before departure.
- If you signed up for a horseback ride, confirm scheduled return time and pick-up location with staff before leaving.
- Mobile reception can be patchy in rural areas; arrange group pick-up locations in person rather than relying solely on calls or texts.
