Itinerary
Day 1
Early pickup in Cebu City; full day covers Oslob, Tumalog Falls, Sumilon Island sandbar, and Moalboal before returning to Cebu.
Oslob — Whale shark interaction (Butanding)
Arrive at the Oslob whale shark area for the guided whale shark interaction. Time on water includes briefing, swim/snorkel alongside the whale sharks, and short breaks with the guide. Interactions are done under local management — follow your guide's instructions and local regulations at all times.
Tips from local experts:
- Bring a small waterproof bag for your phone/valet items and use reef‑safe sunscreen — no cream residue on animals or coral.
- Wear a short wetsuit or rash guard for comfort; fins and snorkel are provided — bring your own mask if you prefer a personal fit.
- Follow the guide’s safety briefing: keep distance, do not touch the whale sharks, and avoid sudden movements or flash photography.
Tumalog Falls — short walk & swim
Short drive and a brief walk to Tumalog Falls. Time allocated for a gentle walk to the viewing area and a swim in the pool at the base of the falls. Terrain includes steps and uneven surfaces.
Tips from local experts:
- Wear water shoes with grip for the short descent and slippery rocks near the pool.
- Bring a quick‑dry towel and a dry bag for valuables; changing facilities are basic so bring a change of clothes.
- Plan for limited shade — bring a cap and a light cover-up between activities.
Sumilon Island — sandbar, beach time & snorkeling
Short boat transfer from Oslob to Sumilon Island for time on the white sandbar, quick snorkeling around shallow reefs, and beach relaxation. Activities scheduled around local tides; boat transfers included in this block.
Tips from local experts:
- Check tide timing with your guide on the day — the sandbar exposure depends on tide so plan photos early in the visit.
- Carry a reusable water bottle and light snacks in a dry bag; shade is limited on the sandbar.
- Use biodegradable/reef‑safe sunscreen and avoid applying heavy lotions before snorkeling.
Moalboal — Sardine Run & Turtle Point snorkeling
Drive to Moalboal for snorkeling at Panagsama Beach area. Time allocated to snorkel among the sardine shoals and visit Turtle Point to see green turtles grazing (wild animals; sightings cannot be guaranteed). Guided snorkeling and use of provided gear.
Tips from local experts:
- Bring a snorkel vest if you prefer extra buoyancy; tell your guide if anyone in the group is a weak swimmer so they can assign appropriate support.
- Store any loose items in a secure bag on the boat/shore; Panagsama can be rocky—fin protectors or reef shoes help when entering/exiting water.
- Plan to share footage and photos after the swim — coordinate a meeting spot and time with your group to regroup before returning to the vehicle.
