Itinerary
Day 1
Meet 15 minutes before departure to check gear and complete formalities.
adex base — Meeting & gear check
Meet at the designated meeting point to check gear, complete forms, and purchase any missing small items.
Tips from local experts:
- Arrive 15 minutes early for check-in and a quick gear fit (start time 09:00).
- If you lack hiking shoes, bring sturdy athletic shoes with grip; no shoe rentals are provided.
- Small purchases (gloves, rain covers) are available at the meeting shop if needed.
Drive to the Trailhead (approx. 1 hour)
Round-trip transportation from the meeting point to the trailhead (approx. 1 hour each way). Short restroom/stretch stops as needed.
Tips from local experts:
- Use restroom before boarding; roadside facilities are limited near the trailhead.
- If you are prone to motion sickness, take medication before departure.
- Secure small items (cameras, phones) in a bag; vehicles used are for short transfers only.
Start Hiking — Enter the moss corridor
Begin the gentle hike. The route is mostly flat with a short rope-assisted section where the guide provides support.
Tips from local experts:
- Keep a relaxed pace and use trekking poles if you requested them—poles help on damp sections.
- Stay on the marked path at all times to protect the moss and for your footing.
- Ask the guide for assistance on the rope-assisted section; they will give a safety briefing first.
Explore the Emerald Corridor — Moss viewing & light meal
Spend focused time walking through and photographing the mossy landscape. A light meal (sandwich) and hot drink are provided during this section.
Tips from local experts:
- Photograph gently—avoid stepping off the trail or touching moss to preserve it.
- Keep camera bags covered during misty conditions to prevent moisture damage.
- Use this time for a seated snack break; take off packs on trail-edge clearings to avoid crowding the path.
Turnaround Point — Regroup and return
Group turnaround based on schedule; guides will account for pace and conditions and lead the return along the same path.
Tips from local experts:
- Allow the guide to lead the timing—return point may be adjusted for safety or pacing.
- Use this short stop to rehydrate, adjust layers, and check footwear for the return.
- If you need extra assistance on the return rope section, notify the guide now.
Return to adex base (drive) and conclude the tour
Drive back to the meeting point and finish with a short conclusion and equipment return if needed.
Tips from local experts:
- Keep muddy shoes in a separate bag during the vehicle transfer to keep the vehicle clean.
- Change into dry socks or layers at the end if you became damp on the trail.
- Collect any purchased items or receipts from the meeting shop before departing.
