Itinerary
Day 1
Meet at the BBQ E-Boat Fiji office in Port Denarau Marina for check-in, receive a 30-minute skipper briefing, then depart for a 2.5-hour self-drive mangrove cruise with time to stop and BBQ or picnic.
Skipper Training
30-minute mandatory skipper training and safety briefing at the BBQ E-Boat Fiji office before you take the helm. Covers boat controls, safety gear, VHF use, anchoring and how to operate the onboard BBQ (if added).
Tips from local experts:
- Arrive 10 minutes before the listed check-in; walk through the Port Denarau Passenger Terminal and find the BBQ E-Boat Fiji office on the right-hand side.
- Bring photo ID for check-in and have any dietary restrictions ready to confirm if you ordered a BBQ set.
- Wear non-marking, flat shoes or sandals — marina decking can be slippery when wet.
Self-Drive cruising
Board your reserved eco-electric BBQ boat and cruise through Denarau’s mangrove channels escorted by a service boat. Enjoy 2.5 hours of quiet cruising, onboard amenities (sunshade, table, mini speaker), handline fishing and time to BBQ or picnic at a calm mid-river spot. Service boat support remains nearby throughout.
Tips from local experts:
- Limit bulky coolers—space on board is limited; use soft-sided bags and sealable containers to keep the deck tidy.
- If you plan to BBQ, bring a small tongs or spatula only if you prefer your own; otherwise use the provided BBQ tool kit when the BBQ set is added.
- Use reef-safe sunscreen and a waterproof phone case for photos during stops — water spray and BBQ smoke are likely.
