Rental hours run from 09:00–17:00 at the Wilderness Center; late drop-off until midnight can be arranged. A credit-card number is required on arrival for insurance hold.

Itinerary
Day 1
Collect rental bike and helmet at the Wilderness Center, enjoy self-guided riding on nearby trails in East Iceland's valleys and plateaus, return by end of rental period.
Mountain Bike Rental
Check in at the Wilderness Center to collect your reserved hardtail mountain bike and helmet. Complete the insurance check-in (credit-card number required). Ride self-guided on local trails and return the bike to the Wilderness Center by the end of the rental period.
Tips from local experts:
- Bring a credit card to provide for the required insurance hold at check-in.
- Dress in layers and bring a windproof outer layer — weather in East Iceland can change quickly even in summer.
- Return to the Wilderness Center by 17:00; if you need to keep the bike later, ask staff about the late drop-off option (available until midnight when arranged).
