Itinerary
Day 1
Meeting Your Guide
Meet your local guide at Creparia Yummy Ice & Coffee by Faro Marina. Quick briefing and boarding of the air-conditioned minibus; then a roughly one-hour transfer east along the coast toward Algar Seco.
Tips from local experts:
- Arrive 10 minutes before the scheduled start time to check in with the guide and store small bags on the minibus.
- Bring a light layer — mornings can be breezy near the marina and on the minibus.
- Carry a printed or digital copy of your booking reference and a photo ID for check-in.
Arriving at Algar Seco
Explore the cliffs, rock arches and coastal walkways at Algar Seco (Carvoeiro). Short guided walk on coastal paths and viewpoints — terrain includes steps and uneven surfaces.
Tips from local experts:
- Wear sturdy, closed-soeled shoes with grip — cliff paths and steps can be uneven.
- Keep to marked paths and railings; watch for loose rocks near edges.
- Carry a small bottle of water and sun protection; there is limited shade on the cliffs.
Benagil Cave Marvel
Visit the official Benagil viewpoint area to admire the famous sea cave from the clifftop. Note: access inside the cave is not part of this activity; this is a walking viewpoint experience only.
Tips from local experts:
- Do not attempt to enter the cave on your own — recent local rules prohibit entering the cave from the shore.
- Stay behind safety barriers and keep a safe distance from cliff edges while taking photos.
- If you're prone to vertigo, step back from cliff edges — viewpoints can be exposed.
Marinha Beach Paradise:
Time at Praia da Marinha (Marinha Beach) to enjoy dramatic cliffs, clear water and the Seven Hanging Valleys coastline. Options to swim or relax on the sand; terrain includes steps down to the beach in some areas.
Tips from local experts:
- Bring swimwear, a towel and water; there are no complimentary drinks supplied on the tour.
- Use reef-friendly sunscreen and a hat — the beach has limited shade during midday.
- Be cautious when entering the water: check local conditions and avoid swimming alone if currents are strong.
Return to Faro in Comfort:
Board the minibus at the arranged pick-up point on Marinha Beach and return to Faro Marina. Arrival back at Faro marks the end of the guided portion of the day.
Tips from local experts:
- Check you have all personal items before leaving the minibus — chargers, towels and cameras are commonly left behind.
- Expect to be dropped off at Faro Marina; confirm with the guide if you need a nearby alternate drop-off.
- If you plan to continue exploring Faro, bring a small change of clothes or a dry layer for cooler evening temperatures near the water.
