Itinerary
Day 1
Full-day guided transfer from Fortaleza to Cumbuco with beach time, lagoon and dune area exploration. Pickup is shared (Praia do Futuro, Avenida Beira Mar, Iracema Beach); lunch is not included.
Shared coastline pickup (Praia do Futuro / Beira Mar / Iracema)
Shared pickup across Fortaleza's main coastline pickup zones. Boarding windows are scheduled: Praia do Futuro 08:00, Avenida Beira Mar 08:30, Iracema Beach 08:50. Vehicle is air-conditioned.
Tips from local experts:
- Be ready 10 minutes before your scheduled pickup window; drivers keep to the published boarding times.
- Carry a small daypack with sunscreen, sunglasses and ID — the vehicle has limited onboard storage.
- Confirm your exact pickup point (Praia do Futuro, Av. Beira Mar or Iracema) when the operations team contacts you the day before.
Transfer to Cumbuco
Scenic transfer north-west from Fortaleza to the village of Cumbuco (~35 km). Short comfort stops may be taken as needed.
Tips from local experts:
- Use the restroom in Fortaleza before departure; stops en route are limited.
- If you are prone to motion sickness, take precautions before the transfer (medication or seat choice towards the front).
- Keep cameras and phones accessible — coastal views appear shortly after leaving the city.
Cumbuco Beach — beach time and water sports overview
Arrive at Cumbuco Beach for open time on the sand and introductions to available water-sport options (kitesurfing, windsurfing, skibunda) and lagoon viewpoints. Operators on site offer lessons and rentals — these activities are optional and not included.
Tips from local experts:
- Bring swimwear and a quick-dry shirt; a light windbreaker helps on windy afternoons.
- If trying a water sport, confirm experience level with the local operator and ask about included safety gear.
- Keep valuables in a waterproof pouch or leave them on the vehicle; small lockers are not guaranteed on the beach.
Lunch break (not included) — free time to eat in Cumbuco
One-hour lunch break. Local restaurants and beach kiosks offer seafood, snacks and light meals; lunch is not included in the tour price.
Tips from local experts:
- Many beach kiosks prefer cash; have some Brazilian reais available for small purchases.
- Ask for fish or shrimp preparations if you want a local seafood option; state any allergies clearly.
- If you need a quieter spot, request a shaded table away from the busiest beachfront sections.
Dune area: walking, viewpoints and optional buggy/quad/horseback time
Explore the tall dunes and nearby lagoons. Optional activities such as dune buggy rides, quad tours and horseback riding are available locally (not included). The guide will show safe access points and recommended operators.
Tips from local experts:
- Wear closed shoes for dune walking; sand can be hot and unstable near slopes.
- Secure sunglasses and hats with straps — the wind can dislodge lightweight items on dunes.
- Follow the guide's instructions for any optional motorized activities; verify age/weight restrictions directly with the operator.
Return transfer to Fortaleza and drop-off along the coastline
Depart Cumbuco and return to Fortaleza with drop-offs along the main coastline (Praia do Futuro, Avenida Beira Mar, Praia de Iracema). Expected final drop-off is late afternoon.
Tips from local experts:
- Confirm your preferred drop-off point with the driver at the start of the return leg to ensure a timely stop.
- Keep essential items you brought for the day in your hand luggage for the return segment.
- Drivers commonly finish service by late afternoon; charge devices before the transfer if needed for arrival communications.
