Itinerary
Day 1
2.5-hour guided kayaking experience departing from the operator's riverside base. Includes check-in, equipment fitting and briefing, paddling through Old Town canals and shipyard waterfront, then return and stowage.
Meet, check-in & safety briefing
Arrive at the operator base for check-in, size-up of PFDs, basic paddling instruction, and a safety briefing covering spray skirts, rudder use, and group signals.
Tips from local experts:
- Arrive 10 minutes before the scheduled start to complete check-in and any waivers.
- Wear quick-dry layers and secure footwear you don't mind getting wet (water shoes or sandals with straps work well).
- Bring ID and any required medication; small valuables can be placed in the provided waterproof bag and locker.
Guided paddle: Motława River, Old Town canals & shipyard waterfront
Follow the guide along the Motława River and through the Old Town canals, passing waterfront granaries and the medieval Crane (Żuraw), then paddle toward the historic shipyard areas to observe maritime infrastructure from the water. The guide manages pace and stops for photos and short commentary.
Tips from local experts:
- Follow the guide's cadence and spacing; the guide will call short photo and commentary stops near landmarks such as the Żuraw (The Crane).
- Keep your PFD fastened and spray skirt in place; if you capsize, remain calm and follow the guide's assisted re-entry instructions.
- Do not consume alcohol before or during the tour and refrain from smoking or vaping while using company equipment.
Return, stow equipment & short debrief
Return to the base, remove and rinse gear as needed, store items in lockers, return equipment to staff, and receive a brief wrap-up from the guide.
Tips from local experts:
- Bring a small towel and a change of clothes to dry off quickly after the tour.
- Use the provided lockers for larger bags; retrieve personal items promptly to keep turnaround smooth for following groups.
- If you want any photos the guide took, request them before leaving so they can confirm file-transfer options (if available).
