Itinerary

Day 1

Meet, check-in and safety briefing at the operator's meeting point, then a guided family-friendly ride visiting the DECR museum (scavenger clue stop), Leeward Beach, Long Bay (Tiki stop), The Hole, and return.

Meet & Check-in — CastAways Conch Bar (safety briefing, helmets & goggles)

10:00 – 10:20 • 20m

Arrive at CastAways Conch Bar to sign waivers, get helmets, goggles and bottled water. Guides fit gear, cover safety rules and explain the scavenger-hunt checklist for kids.

345 Grace Bay Rd, Grace Bay TKCA 1ZZ, Turks and Caicos Islands
4 (370 reviews)

Tips from local experts:

  • Bring a lightweight change of clothes and a small towel—sand can get everywhere and kids may want to rinse off after the ride.
  • Restrooms and shaded seating are available at the meeting spot; arrive 10 minutes early if you need a quick bathroom stop before mounting the vehicles.
  • For families: each child must meet the minimum age (7). Make sure to bring the child's ID or confirmation showing ages to speed check-in.

Scavenger-hunt stop — Department of Environment & Coastal Resources (quick museum orientation)

10:20 – 10:35 • 15m

Short guided visit beside the DECR exhibit area: kids note key shells, plants and sea creatures on the scavenger list — these items will be hunted on the beach stops.

QQJQ+Q6C, The Bight Settlement TKCA 1ZZ, Turks and Caicos Islands
3.7 (3 reviews)

Tips from local experts:

  • Bring a small notebook or use your phone camera to photograph items — children often prefer snapping quick pictures to writing.
  • DECR exhibits are compact; keep strollers folded if possible (paths can be narrow) and hold onto younger children near displays.
  • Keep explanations simple and interactive: ask kids to point out colours or shapes (this helps with the scavenger hunt later).

Leeward Beach (Sunset / Pelican Beach) — scavenger-hunt shell search & pelican spotting

10:35 – 10:50 • 15m

Short beach stop to hunt for shells, look for the Brown Pelican, and enjoy family photos on the shore. Gentle sand and calm spots are excellent for kids to explore safely.

31 Tranquility Ln, Leeward Settlement TKCA 1ZZ, Turks and Caicos Islands
4.8 (337 reviews)

Tips from local experts:

  • Bring reef-safe sunscreen and a wide-brim hat for each child — March sun is strong during midday.
  • Leeward has sandy access points; wear water shoes for kids if exploring rockier edges, and bring snacks for a quick energy boost between stops.
  • There may be limited shade—set up a small pop-up umbrella if you have one; keep valuables zipped in a dry bag on the ATV while you explore.

Long Bay Beach & Tiki break — watch kite surfers and continue the scavenger hunt

10:50 – 11:05 • 15m

Stop on Long Bay's shallow side where families can safely step into calm, shallow water. The Tiki area is a good rest spot—kids can enjoy a coconut water while parents take photos of the kite-surfing action.

Long Bay Beach, Long Bay Hills TKCA 1ZZ, Turks and Caicos Islands
4.6 (90 reviews)

Tips from local experts:

  • Long Bay is windier—bring a light windbreaker for younger children and secure hats with straps so they don't blow away.
  • This stretch is shallow and sandy — it's safe for supervised paddling; still, keep a close eye on kids and avoid deeper channels.
  • The Tiki stop is family-friendly but small — cash or card options vary; bring small bills for quick purchases and tipping servers.

The Hole (Long Bay Hills) — guided viewing & final scavenger clue

11:05 – 11:20 • 15m

Guides park safely and lead families to a supervised viewpoint of The Hole sinkhole. This geological feature is a fascinating, safe look-from-the-edge experience — last spot for scavenger-hunt items before claiming the small treasure chest back at the meeting point.

70 Sea Sage Hill Rd, Long Bay Hills TKCA 1ZZ, Turks and Caicos Islands
4.3 (43 reviews)

Tips from local experts:

  • The Hole has a steep rim—hold children's hands and stay behind safety markers; it's not suitable for strollers or wheelchairs.
  • Wear closed-toe shoes for this short walk; loose sand and rocks can be slippery for little feet.
  • Avoid leaning over the rim for photos; guides will suggest safe vantage points and help capture family pictures.

Return & Wrap-up — back at CastAways Conch Bar for photos and prize

11:20 – 11:30 • 10m

Return to the starting point for vehicle return, group photos, a small prize for the scavenger-hunt winners and time to ask guides questions about island wildlife and safe beach play.

345 Grace Bay Rd, Grace Bay TKCA 1ZZ, Turks and Caicos Islands
4 (370 reviews)

Tips from local experts:

  • Have a change of dry clothes for kids in the car for the ride back — sandy seats are easier to handle with a quick swap.
  • Ask guides for local family-friendly dining suggestions nearby if you plan to continue the day — they often recommend places with kids' menus.
  • Collect any rented safety gear immediately and confirm any lost-item checks before heading off — the team will help locate small belongings left on vehicles.
