Guangzhou Historical Day Tour By Metro & Boat
At 9.30am, your guide will meet you outside Exit B1 Yuexiu Park station on metro line 2 in Guangzhou, then start the day tour. You will visit the Museum of the Tomb of the Nanyue King of the Western Han Period, where you will learn the history of Guangzhou back to 2,200 years ago.Afterwards, you will climb up Yuexiu Park to view the token of the city, 5 Rams Sculpture that was erected in Yuexiu park in 1959 to describe the legend. You will also view a section of the Old City Wall of Guangzhou in the park, which was built in Ming Dynasty about 600 years ago.Then, you will move to Academy of Clan Chen, or The Chen Clan Ancestral Hall, which is an academic temple built in 1894 during later Qing Dynasty. Academy of Chen Clan is a complex with traditional Canton architecture style. Now it is a folk art museum to display wooden carving, stone carving, brick carving, pottery, plaster and iron engraving etc. which are nice to view with your local guide.Later, you will take metro to Shamian Island and wander around the former colony for British and French for 100 years ago, where there are well-preserved old European architectural houses, and you can see local people taking wedding pictures here.Afterwards you will take a boat on the Pearl River to view the buildings beside the river. Then you will move to Canton Tower. The impressive Canton tower is 600 meters in height, and if you are interested, you could buy a ticket to overlook the city at your own expense.Your lunch is included for the delicious Cantonese Dim Sum. Congjiang-- Guangzhou Via Bullet Train This morning you will drive 30 minutes to visit Basha (or Biasha) Miao village that is the last gun tribe in China. Wander around in the village, and view the terrace farm on the hill, it is a nice experience to travel here. Later, you will be transferred back to Congjiang Railway Station to catch a bullet train back to Guangzhou. Day 1. Guangzhou -- Huaihua South by bullet train At 7:30am, your guide will meet you at your hotel lobby. Then, transfer to Guangzhou Nan Railway Station (Guangzhou South) to catch a bullet train from Guangzhou to Huaihua South (4.5 hours). Upon arrival in Huaihua South, you will be transferred to Fenghuang Old Town for 1 hour, which is a well-known river town in Hunan Province.
