Itinerary
Day 1
Meet at the Íshestar Riding Center for a private 1-hour ride on Icelandic horses. Suitable for families; guides provide instruction and lead a relaxed route through nearby natural terrain. Riders must follow weight and equipment rules.
Check-in & Safety Briefing then 1-hour Private Ride (choose 09:00, 13:00 or 16:00 departures)
Meet at Íshestar riding stables 30 minutes before your booked departure for check-in, fitting of helmets and boots, and a short safety briefing. The guided ride lasts 1 hour. Guides speak English and Scandinavian languages (and German). Note: transfer is not included; arrive at the stables by your own means.
Tips from local experts:
- Arrive 30 minutes before your booked departure time for check-in, tack-up and a short safety briefing — this is required for all riders.
- Helmets, rubber boots and rainwear/warm outer layers are provided; bring a warm mid-layer and closed-toe shoes for children. Do not bring backpacks during the ride — valuables can be stored safely at the Íshestar Riding Center.
- Maximum rider weight is 110 kg (240 lbs). Any riding-specific clothing brought from abroad (leather boots, saddles, etc.) must be disinfected or laundered before arrival as per Icelandic import rules.
