There is no experience more authentically Icelandic than hiking through the surreal landscapes of the highlands followed by a relaxing soak in a geothermal pool. The Húsafell locals who undertook the Canyon Baths project went to great lengths to keep the entire structure as environmentally unobtrusive, sustainable and true to the area’s heritage as possible.

Itinerary
Day 1
Meet at the Activity Center parking lot in Húsafell, transfer briefly to the trailhead, take a short guided walk into the canyon, enjoy a 45-minute soak in the geothermal pools, then return to Hotel Húsafell / the meeting point.
Meet — Húsafell Activity Center / Bistró parking lot
Meet your English-speaking guide at the Húsafell Activity Center / Bistró parking lot. Guide will confirm group, distribute towels, and brief on safety and etiquette (no outside alcohol allowed).

- Arrive 10 minutes early to find parking and meet the guide at the Bistró parking area.
- Restrooms are available at the Húsafell Activity Center—use them before departing to the trailhead.
- Bring your packed swimsuit under clothing for a quick change; towels are provided.
Transfer — short drive to Hotel Húsafell / trailhead
A brief vehicle transfer to the Hotel Húsafell area and the canyon trailhead. Transport to and from Hotel Húsafell is included.

Short guided walk from the trailhead down into the Húsafell canyon area where the geothermal pools are located. Terrain is natural and may be uneven; pace will be easy and suitable for couples seeking a tranquil experience.

- Bring a warm, waterproof outer layer; weather in the highlands can change quickly even in summer.

Soak — Húsafell Canyon Baths (geothermal pools)
Enjoy a relaxing 45-minute soak in the Húsafell Canyon geothermal pools. Entrance and towel are included. The structure and pools are designed to be low-impact and respectful of the local environment.

- Outside alcohol is not permitted in the baths; please respect the local rules posted at the site.

Time to change, gather belongings and return by vehicle to Hotel Húsafell / the Activity Center parking lot. The guide will confirm drop-off details.
