Itinerary
Day 1
Meet at Sólhestar Horse Rental in Reykjadalur for check-in, safety briefing, and a guided 1 hour riding experience in Reykjadalur Valley. Total booking time is 1 hour 30 minutes including preparation and wrap-up.
Sólhestar Reykjadalur — check-in, briefing and guided ride
Meeting and check-in at Sólhestar horse rental. The session includes check-in, helmet/boot fitting and short safety briefing, followed by a guided ride through parts of Reykjadalur Valley, then return and dismount. Please arrive 15 minutes before the scheduled start time.
Tips from local experts:
- Arrive dressed in layers and with waterproof outerwear — the stable provides helmets and boots but not insulated inner layers for children.
- Allow 15 minutes for check-in and helmet fitting; plan restroom and snack breaks before arrival for younger children.
- Maximum rider weight is 110 kg; if travelling with children, ensure they are dressed for cold and wet weather and can sit upright for the duration.
