Itinerary
Day 1
Pickup from your Jeju-area accommodation and a sequence of short drives and relaxed visits to the scheduled eastern Jeju sites. Times include short rest buffers between stops.
Manjanggul Lava Tube (or Jeju Haenyeo Museum if closed)
Drive from your accommodation to Manjanggul Lava Tube. Visit the lava tube to view its inner passage and notable rock formations. If Manjanggul is closed for inspection or internal works (long-term closures are possible), the driver will instead take you to the Jeju Haenyeo Museum as an alternative.
Tips from local experts:
- Confirm on the morning of the tour whether Manjanggul is open; if closed, the Jeju Haenyeo Museum will be substituted (the driver will advise).
- Wear comfortable, closed shoes and a light jacket — the cave is cool and uneven underfoot; use handrails where provided.
- There are public restrooms and a small visitor centre near the entrance; plan a short restroom break immediately after arrival.
Woljeongri Beach
Short drive to Woljeongri Beach. Gentle walk along the shoreline, time for photos and a rest at a seaside cafe if desired.
Tips from local experts:
- There are many small cafes along the beachfront; choose one with outdoor seating for easier access and views.
- Seating and shaded areas can be limited; bring a sunhat and SPF in spring.
- Beach access is level from the main walkway but some cafés have single steps — ask staff for step-free seating if needed.
Seongsan Ilchulbong (Sunrise Peak)
Drive to Seongsan Ilchulbong. Short, leveled walking around the base and optional gentle ascent to the rim for views of the crater and coastline. Lunch is scheduled after the initial visit; if you want to see the Haenyeo performance, note it takes place daily at 14:00 at Seongsan — adjust your timing on booking to stay for this performance.
Tips from local experts:
- The rim path includes steps; choose the lower viewpoints if you prefer to avoid stairs — benches are available near the base.
- If you want to watch the Haenyeo (female diver) performance at 14:00, request a later return time at booking so you remain on-site; otherwise enjoy a relaxed lunch after the visit.
- There are toilet facilities and a small cluster of restaurants near the Seongsan parking area for an accessible lunch option.
Seopjikoji coastal walk
Short drive to Seopjikoji for a relaxed coastal walk on mostly level paths. Enjoy sea views and photo stops; the area is especially scenic in spring when canola blooms (April).
Tips from local experts:
- Paths are uneven in places; use comfortable shoes and take the flatter coastal promenade for an easier walk.
- There are benches and viewpoints along the trail — take frequent breaks to keep the pace comfortable.
- If visiting during canola season (April), note some viewing areas can be busier — keep a small distance from flowerbeds and follow local signage.
Seongeup Folk Village
Drive to Seongeup Folk Village for a gentle walk around the preserved traditional village. Short stops at sheltered viewpoints and an opportunity to see traditional stone-built windbreaks and house forms. Optional hanbok (traditional clothing) experience may be available on-site (if you wish to participate, confirm availability locally).
Tips from local experts:
- Streets in the village are compact and mostly level; wear non-slip shoes and take care on narrower lanes.
- Restroom facilities are located near the main visitor area; plan a quick break on arrival if needed.
- If you want to try hanbok, ask the local site staff about availability and modesty considerations (some hanbok require assistance when dressing).
Return to accommodation (drop-off)
Drive back to your pickup point or accommodation in downtown Jeju area. End of private tour and drop-off.
Tips from local experts:
- Driver will confirm your preferred drop-off point in advance; have your room number or exact hotel name ready for a smooth drop-off.
- Carry any medication or personal items you used during the day (camera, jacket, water bottle) before leaving the vehicle.
- Traffic can be heavier late afternoon; allow the driver a short buffer for luggage assistance and a final restroom stop if required.
