- There are uneven stone paths and steps; use comfortable, low-heeled shoes and take the guide’s recommended route to limit stair use.
- Public restrooms are available at the site; plan a restroom break before leaving as next stops are rural.

- Photography is usually allowed in public areas—ask before photographing indoor production areas.
Krasi Village (short visit)
A brief stop in the picturesque village of Krasi to see the village square, the large plane tree, and the historic fountain (Lion's Fountain). A short walk around the square provides a taste of traditional Cretan village life.
Tips from local experts:
- Village streets are narrow and may have uneven paving; use moderate walking pace and stay in the main square area.
- Bring a small bottle of water for this stop—shops may be limited depending on season.
- If you rely on mobility aids, confirm with your guide about the easiest routes in the square before disembarking.
Kera Kardiotissas Monastery (Kera Monastery)
Visit the Kera Kardiotissas Monastery, an active Eastern Orthodox monastery dedicated to the Virgin Mary located on the north slopes of Mt. Dikti. Short visit to the exterior and main chapel area where allowed.
Tips from local experts:
- Dress modestly for monastery visits (shoulders covered; skirts or long trousers recommended).
- Access may include steps; ask the guide for a flatter approach if mobility is a concern.
- Monastery opening times can vary; the guide will confirm access on the day and advise where to wait if interior access is restricted.

- The plateau can be breezy and cooler than the coast—bring a light layer for comfort after sitting at sea level.
- Allow extra time for restroom and comfort breaks at the restaurant; rural facilities may be basic compared with city venues.
Cave of Zeus (Dikteon Cave) — entrance walk only
Approach the Dikteon (Psychro) Cave entrance area. Note: the cave is currently closed for internal access; the activity includes the walk to the entrance viewpoint (approximately 15 minutes walking) so you can see the site and take photos from the entrance area.
