Itinerary
Day 1
Hotel pickup across Koh Samui (wait in hotel lobby 15 minutes before scheduled pickup). The program runs roughly 09:00–15:00 (6 hours total including transfers). Follow your guide’s instructions for times and the order of local visits. Activities below are scheduled with realistic transfer buffers.
Coconut workshop and Museum
Welcome drink of fresh coconut water followed by an interactive introduction to Samui’s coconut heritage. Join local villagers to peel, grate, and press coconuts using traditional tools, then take part in a hands-on Thai dessert cooking class using fresh coconut milk and community-sourced ingredients.
Tips from local experts:
- Wear lightweight clothes you don’t mind getting a little coconut dust on; the workshop is hands-on.
- Bring a small reusable bag if you plan to take home any handmade coconut items from the community.
- Carry mosquito repellent and a light sun hat—the workshop area is partly open-air and shaded.
Krua Chao Baan (Michelin Guide local lunch)
Enjoy a coconut-forward, farm-to-table lunch recognized by the Michelin Guide, where local ingredients and Samui culinary traditions are highlighted in several small dishes celebrating the island’s flavors.
Tips from local experts:
- If you have dietary restrictions, tell your guide on pickup so the kitchen can adapt dishes where possible.
- Plan for a relaxed meal — request a table with a quieter atmosphere if you prefer an intimate setting.
- Use sunscreen and sunglasses for the short walk from the vehicle to the restaurant during midday transfers.
Samui Elephant Home Caring & Education Center
Visit the Samui Elephant Home Caring & Education Center to observe elephants in a natural jungle setting. Learn from experienced mahouts about ethical care, observe natural behaviors, and take part in supervised feeding using coconut treats, bananas, and fresh grass. The planting activity (planting a coconut tree or making seed bombs) takes place here as part of conservation actions.
Tips from local experts:
- Follow mahout and guide instructions at all times; interactions are observation-first with controlled feeding only.
- Wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes and lightweight long trousers for comfort and protection around forest trails.
- Bring a refillable water bottle—the guide will advise on drinking water and brief restroom access before the visit.
Samui Mountain Viewpoint
Short scenic stop at a mountain viewpoint to capture panoramic views over coastline and coconut forests — a moment to reflect on the day’s connection between community, nature, and elephants.
Tips from local experts:
- Keep camera or phone charges topped up—this viewpoint is great for paired photos at golden-hour adjacent times.
- There may be a short, uneven path: take care with footwear and pace when moving for photos.
- If you prefer shade, ask your guide for the calmest vantage point away from the brief crowds.
Hidden gem beach (calm beach finale)
End the journey at a quiet local beach to walk among coconut palms, enjoy the sea breeze, and unwind after the day’s experiences. A peaceful moment for couples to reflect and relax before hotel drop-off.
Tips from local experts:
- Bring a light towel or sarong to sit on; public beach facilities may be limited at quieter local spots.
- Keep valuables secure in the vehicle; if you bring phones/cameras, use a small waterproof pouch near the shore.
- Ask your guide for the best short walking route along the sand—some stretches have softer sand while others are firmer for strolling.
