Itinerary
Day 1
Half-day shared speedboat tour from Kotor covering key Boka Bay sights with swim/snorkel at the Blue Cave.
Start from Kotor
Meeting and boarding at Park Slobode (Kotorska luka). The tour departs from the Kotor harbour; guests should look for the Aquaholic Speedboat Tours table. The overall start point includes boarding, initial cruise through Kotor Bay with views of fisherman's villages (Muo, Prcanj, Stoliv) and return to Kotor at the end of the tour.
Tips from local experts:
- Arrive 10–15 minutes before departure at Park Slobode (Kotorska luka) and look for the Aquaholic Speedboat Tours table to check in.
- Bring swimwear under clothing if you plan to swim at the Blue Cave; towels and bottled water are provided on board.
- This activity is not wheelchair accessible and infant seats are not available — plan accordingly.
Our Lady of the Rocks
Approach and short stop at the artificial island known as Our Lady of the Rocks (Gospa od Škrpjela). Guests may go ashore and view the church and small museum; note that entry to the church/museum is optional and requires a separate small entrance fee charged locally.
Tips from local experts:
- If you plan to enter the church/museum, bring a small amount of cash for the local entrance fee (fee is collected on-site and is not included).
- Dress modestly if you intend to go inside the church (shoulders and knees covered).
- On short island stops there are steps and limited facilities — keep personal items with you and follow crew instructions when disembarking.
Panoramic view of Old Town Perast
Panoramic cruise along Perast with commentary about the town’s history and visual views of its single-street Old Town, St. George island, and the bay.
Tips from local experts:
- Keep cameras ready — the boat will stay on the water for a panoramic view rather than a long shore visit.
- This is a short viewing stop from the boat; personal items should remain on board rather than attempting a landing unless instructed.
- If you want clearer photos, stand on the upper deck area (if available) for unobstructed views of the town and islands.
Submarine Base
Close approach and entry by boat to the former Yugoslav submarine base/tunnel. The skipper will provide historical context about its construction and use; guests observe from the boat and the tunnel entrance.
Tips from local experts:
- Remain seated while the boat approaches the submarine base area and follow skipper safety instructions; lighting can be low near the tunnel entrance.
- This stop is observational — public access inside military structures is restricted; expect commentary from the skipper rather than on-shore exploration.
- Protect electronic equipment from spray when the boat nears the base; store valuables in dry bags if provided.
Panoramic view of Mamula Island
Panoramic pass by Mamula Island allowing guests to view the 19th-century fortification from the water while the skipper describes its history and transformation over time.
Tips from local experts:
- Mamula is viewed from the boat only; do not attempt to land unless explicitly stated by the crew.
- If you prefer quieter viewing, choose a spot away from the bow where there is seating and shade on the boat.
- Note that the fort has a complex history; treat commentary as historical overview and remain respectful during the narration.
Blue Cave
Stop at the natural Blue Cave for a 30-minute swim and snorkel. The cave’s blue light effect is best experienced from the water; snorkeling equipment is provided and guests may swim from the boat into the cave area under skipper supervision.
Tips from local experts:
- Use the snorkelling equipment provided on board; rinse and return it before disembarking from the swim stop.
- Water inside the cave can be cooler and visibility depends on light conditions — wear a rash guard or quick-dry top if you tend to feel cold.
- Follow the crew’s instructions for entering and exiting the water; the cave entrance may be narrow and space inside is limited.
