Guests are transported by road from Livingstone for about a 45–60 minute drive to Kazungula border where passport formalities are completed for both Zambia and Botswana after crossing the Kazungula Bridge. After meeting the Botswana guide there is a short briefing at the Botswana office then either a game drive, lunch and river cruise

Itinerary
Day 1
Full day crossing the border to Botswana for a combined game drive and river cruise in Chobe National Park. Pickup from hotels in Livingstone, return to Livingstone same day.
Pickup and drive through Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park (en route to Kazungula)
Pickup from Livingstone hotels and drive east toward Kazungula. The route crosses a corner of Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park where there is a short chance to spot wildlife from the vehicle as you travel to the border.
Tips from local experts:
- Be ready in your hotel lobby 10–15 minutes before the confirmed pickup time; guides load luggage into the vehicle quickly to stay on schedule.
- Keep passports and any required visas/passport photos handy in a small, secure bag—you'll need them at the border.
- Wear neutral-coloured, low-reflective clothing and comfortable shoes; keep cameras/binoculars accessible for quick wildlife spotting from the vehicle.
Kazungula border crossing and crossing the Kazungula Bridge
Arrive at Kazungula border post for passport stamping and visa checks (Zambia exit and Botswana entry). After formalities the group crosses the Kazungula Bridge into Botswana and meets the Botswana guide for a short briefing.

- Bring a pen for filling any arrival/departure forms quickly; expect border formalities to take up to 45–60 minutes depending on queues.

Chobe National Park: game drive, river safari and riverside lunch (combined experience)
After the Botswana-side briefing, the guides will choose the operational order (either morning game drive then lunch and river cruise, or cruise then game drive). Expect open-sided vehicle game viewing and a river safari on the Chobe River; a buffet lunch at a riverbank lodge is included. Time in-park is used for wildlife viewing (elephants, buffalo, antelope, possible lions) and for the boat cruise on the river.

- Guides decide the order of game drive and cruise based on wildlife/activity—follow their instructions for the safest viewing positions in open vehicles and on boats.
- Bring a lightweight rain shell and sun protection; mornings can be cool in winter and the mid-day sun can be strong—binoculars and a camera with a zoom lens are recommended.
- Carry your passport while in Botswana (required for re-entry to Zambia) and a photo or digital copy of children's birth certificates if travelling with minors; bottled water and lunch are provided.
