Itinerary
Day 1
Half-day adventure: pickup in Lucea, sequential ATV safari, horseback swim, short lunch break (not included), catamaran snorkel & party cruise, then return.
Hotel / Port Pickup & Safety Briefing
Private A/C vehicle pickup in Lucea. Driver will meet guests in the hotel lobby or at the arranged cruise gangway holding the company sign (Ellis Tours & Transfers JA). Short safety briefing and outline of the day's order before departing to activity sites.
Tips from local experts:
- Be ready in the hotel lobby or designated pickup point 5–10 minutes before the scheduled time; the driver will display 'Ellis Tours & Transfers JA'.
- Bring a photo ID if you plan to operate an ATV — operators require drivers to show a valid licence for riders aged 16+.
- Keep your phone/camera accessible for quick photos during the briefing, but secure loose items before activities (use a small bag or hotel safe).
ATV / Dune Buggy Safari (Backcountry)
Guided ATV / dune buggy route through the Hanover/Lucea backcountry with coastal and countryside viewpoints. Route includes off-road trails and short photo stops. Operators provide safety briefing and helmets before departure.
Tips from local experts:
- Wear closed-toe shoes and clothes you don't mind getting dusty; long hair should be tied back under the helmet.
- ATV operator requirement: riders 16+ must present a valid driver's licence; follow the guide's instructions and weight limits supplied by the operator.
- Stow cameras and loose items in a small waterproof bag or leave them on the vehicle's secure compartment to avoid loss during rough sections.
Horseback Ride & Swim
Saddle up for a guided horseback ride over coastal hills with ocean vistas, then descend to the shoreline to ride into the sea for a supervised horse swim (horseback swim included as described). Guides adjust pace for rider comfort and safety.
Tips from local experts:
- Wear swimwear under comfortable riding clothes and footwear that can get wet (no flip-flops recommended for mounting/dismounting).
- Follow the guide's mounting/dismounting and riding instructions closely — the sea entry will be supervised and brief for safety.
- If you have back, heart, or pregnancy concerns, opt out — the operator notes this activity is not recommended for those conditions.
Lunch Break (Not Included)
Short 30-minute break for guests to eat; lunch is not provided. Guests can use this time to change, rinse off, or purchase food at a nearby vendor or hotel café if available.
Tips from local experts:
- Lunch is not included — bring cash or a card if you plan to buy food from a local vendor or hotel café.
- Use this time to change into swim-ready clothes and secure valuables before the catamaran leg.
- If you require a specific meal (allergies, vegetarian), confirm options quickly with staff or carry a light snack to avoid delays.
Catamaran Snorkel & Party Cruise
Sea scooter/snorkel portion and short catamaran cruise: snorkel in shallow coral areas to see fish and coral, then enjoy a relaxed party-cruise segment with music and drinks as described. Crew provides a short safety briefing and flotation/snorkel guidance.
Tips from local experts:
- Bring reef-safe sunscreen and a towel; avoid applying normal sunscreen right before snorkeling if you will enter the water (bring a shirt to wear while cruising if needed).
- Secure phones and valuables in a waterproof bag or leave them on the bus—crew will advise where to stow belongings during snorkeling.
- Follow the crew's safety instructions for snorkel gear and sea-scooter use; if you're not confident in open water, request a flotation aid from the crew.
Return & Drop-off
Return by private A/C vehicle to the original pickup point (hotel lobby or cruise port). Time allowance for unloading and brief farewells.
Tips from local experts:
- Confirm your exact drop-off point with the driver at the start of the trip to avoid delays on return.
- Gather all personal items from the boat and activity sites before boarding the bus; check pockets and gear bags.
- If you have onward travel plans, keep necessary documents handy and inform staff if you need an earlier drop-off near the end of the route.
