Tips from local experts:
- Wear a sun hat and lightweight layers; shaded areas are limited and the site is largely open.
- There are benches near the main visitor areas; rest frequently to stay comfortable during the walk.
- Keep an eye on uneven ground and low steps in some temple areas; use handrails where provided.
Lunch at a local restaurant in Luxor (included)
Sit-down lunch at a comfortable local restaurant in Luxor with shaded seating and accessible facilities. Drinks during lunch are excluded unless specified otherwise.
Tips from local experts:
- Inform the guide of any dietary restrictions before the meal so the restaurant can accommodate where possible.
- Ask for a quiet table away from the street if mobility or hearing comfort is needed.
- Limit alcoholic drinks if you plan to walk on uneven terrain afterward; bottled mineral water is provided during the trip.
Valley of the Kings - enter up to 3 tombs
Visit the Valley of the Kings. The guide will lead the group to the site and escort you into up to three royal tombs included with the entrance fee. Expect some steps and low passageways inside tombs.
Tips from local experts:
- Tomb interiors can be narrow with low lighting and uneven steps—move slowly and use handrails where available.
- If stairs or narrow passages are difficult, inform the guide in advance to prioritise more accessible tombs or exterior viewpoints.
- Carry a small torch on your phone for softer lighting inside tombs; keep voices low to protect the site and other visitors.
Colossi of Memnon - short photo stop
Quick stop to view and photograph the two giant statues of Amenhotep III that once guarded his mortuary temple.
Tips from local experts:
- This is a short stop; keep personal mobility aids handy so you can join the group for photos.
- Shade is minimal near the colossi—use sun protection and limit time in direct sun where needed.
- Follow the guide's directions for safe photo angles and staying behind any protected barriers.
Mortuary Temple of Queen Hatshepsut
Guided visit to the terraces and colonnades of Hatshepsut's Mortuary Temple at Deir el-Bahari. The guide will point out key reliefs and architectural features.
Tips from local experts:
- The temple has steps and sloped walkways; take your time and use available seating areas to rest.
- Sun exposure can be strong on the terraces—apply sunscreen before the visit and bring a hat.
- If stepping into narrow parts is difficult, remain on the main terraces where views are excellent and accessible.
Local perfume & papyrus workshop (optional browsing)
Short stop at a local workshop to see traditional papyrus-making and perfume demonstrations. Time allocated for browsing or souvenir viewing; purchases are optional and not included.
Tips from local experts:
- Browsing is optional—decline purchases politely if not interested; guides will allow time-limited visits to keep the schedule.
- If you plan to buy papyrus, roll it carefully and request protective packaging for transport.
- Ask for English explanations or a demonstration to ensure products are genuine and meet your expectations.

Tips from local experts:
- Stretch and use restroom facilities during scheduled comfort stops along the return journey.

- If you require a slower pace on the journey home, notify the guide so stops can be adjusted within the route's safety limits.

Tips from local experts:
- Be ready to disembark with all personal effects and purchases; check seats and luggage compartments before leaving the vehicle.
