Start with pickup from your hotel or riad in Marrakech at 08:00. Hotel pick-up and transfer from Marrakech
Pickup from your hotel or riad in Marrakech and transfer by air-conditioned minibus toward Ouzoud village. Travel time is primarily on regional roads with a short comfort stop en route if needed.
Tips from local experts:
- Be ready in the hotel lobby 5–10 minutes before the confirmed pickup time; the driver will contact you the day before with a precise pickup window.
- Bring a small daypack with sun protection, a light jacket, and any personal medication for the drive.
- If you have a preferred meeting point in Marrakech (riad door, main square), confirm this in advance with the operator via WhatsApp or email.
Arrival at Ouzoud — olive groves walk & argan oil cooperative
On arrival in Ouzoud, your local guide leads a short walk through nearby olive groves to a local argan oil cooperative. Learn about Berber production methods and the role of argan oil in local life.
Tips from local experts:
- The cooperative visit often includes short demonstrations and samples; bring small change if you wish to purchase products directly from producers.
- Wear comfortable walking shoes—paths through the groves are uneven and can be dusty.
- Carry a refillable water bottle; bottled water is not included and shops are available near the village.
Guided hike on trails and viewpoint at the falls
Follow the local guide along the network of trails and viewpoints above and around the cascades. Expect uneven ground, occasional steep sections, and opportunities for photos of the multi-tiered falls.
Tips from local experts:
- Sections include steep stairs and unpaved trails; take your time and use handrails where provided.
- Bring a camera or phone with extra battery—there are multiple viewpoints and light changes under the falls.
- If you are prone to dizziness on uneven ground, ask the guide for a gentler route; pacing is adjustable for groups of friends.
Traditional boat ride at the pool below the falls
Short traditional boat ride on the pool at the base of the cascades. The ride is brief and conducted from small local boats; lifejackets may be limited—follow the guide's safety instructions.
Tips from local experts:
- Wear shoes that can get wet or bring quick-dry sandals for the boat; the boarding area can be slippery.
- Keep valuables in a waterproof pouch or on the minibus during the ride to avoid splashing.
- Listen to your guide's boarding instructions—boats are small and space is limited so follow seating guidance for balance.
Late Berber lunch overlooking the falls
Enjoy a relaxed, late Berber-style lunch at a local restaurant with views over the falls. Lunch is not included in the tour price and is typically served family-style with regional dishes.
Tips from local experts:
- Inform the guide of any dietary restrictions in the morning so the restaurant can prepare suitable options.
- Cash is commonly used at local restaurants; carry some dirhams for lunch and tips.
- Expect seating to be simple and communal; request a quieter table if you prefer a more private setting.
Return transfer to Marrakech
Board the minibus for the return drive to Marrakech. Expect a mid-afternoon departure with arrival in Marrakech in the early evening.
Tips from local experts:
- There will be a short comfort stop on the return drive; keep personal items organized for a smooth departure.
- If you wish to nap on the return, bring a light neck pillow—the ride can be bumpy on some sections of road.
- Confirm your drop-off point in Marrakech with the driver before arrival to ensure a smooth end to the day.
