Tea House in Monte Verde
São Vicente is typically dry and clay-like, however, Monte Verde is one of the greenest places to be found on the Island. Travel to Monte Verde by car, up the mountainside road. Along the way, you will find endemic plants, farmers, livestock, and old homes that have been abandoned. At the summit, we will stop at the Tea House to enjoy a cup of locally grown tea or coffee or taste the tea liquor while taking in the spectacular views of the Island.

Take a scenic drive to the top of Monte Verde, natural and protected park, the highest peak in Sao Vicente. Head to the small charming sea side fishing villages on the Island. Take a swim in the clear blue lagoon of Baía das Gatas, and marvel at the contrasting long beach coastline. Calhau is an oasis! A charming small farming and fishing village also home of Vulcao Viana, one of the of last extinct volcanos on the Island. In the valley of Calhau we will see traditional farming by hand, animals, water wells, and windmills.

Visit our natural park of Monte Verde and its wonders. Reach the highest point on the Island by hiking, take in the fresh mountain air, witness the flowers, endemic plants and animals that make Monte Verde their home. Have a cup of tea or coffee at the Tea House while enjoying the panoramic view of the city and the surrounding islands. In the distance, the mountains and valleys of Selada da Baleia, Feijoal Preto, Goa Mountains, Calhau, and on clear days you will be able to see the Islands of Santo Antão, Santa Luzia, and São Nicolau, and the islets Branco and Raso.
