Itinerary
Day 1
Late-afternoon meeting in Levanto, followed by a 3.5-hour sunset cruise with swim/snorkel, aperitivo, and sea views of the five villages. Return to shore and enjoy a romantic dinner in Monterosso al Mare.
Meet at the boarding point — La Pietra (Levanto) — Check-in
Arrive at the meeting point to check in and meet the crew. The operator asks guests to be at the boarding point 15 minutes before departure for check-in and safety briefing.
Tips from local experts:
- Arrive 15 minutes early and look for the Shakti Boat Tours flag or staff wearing branded shirts — it makes boarding smooth and romantic rather than rushed.
- Wear slip-on shoes for easy boarding and bring a lightweight cover-up for the sea breeze as the sun starts to set.
- If you have a preferred spot for photos (bow/front), politely request it during check-in — crews usually accommodate couples when possible.
Cinque Terre Sunset Boat Tour — Shakti Boat Tours (Levanto departure)
Board the eco-hybrid boat and sail along the protected Cinque Terre marine area. The guide will point out Monterosso's Giant, the harbors of Vernazza and Manarola, Corniglia perched above the sea, and Riomaggiore before returning to Levanto. Enjoy a swim/snorkel stop near Guvano, complimentary local aperitivo (white wine/prosecco/beer for adults) and snacks, plus an onboard restroom and a knowledgeable bilingual guide.
Tips from local experts:
- For a romantic photo at golden hour, position yourselves on the starboard side (right) when the boat approaches Manarola/Monterosso — the light is often best there for sunset silhouettes.
- Bring your own lightweight snorkeling mask if you have one for a clearer view; the operator provides equipment but personal masks can be more comfortable.
- If you prefer a quieter moment, ask the crew to anchor slightly apart from larger groups during the aperitivo — they usually oblige to give couples some privacy.
Short transfer: Levanto harbour to Levanto station & onward to Monterosso (train)
After disembarking at the Levanto quay, take a short walk to Levanto train station and catch a quick regional train to Monterosso al Mare for dinner (optional — many couples prefer Monterosso's seaside dinner spots). Allow time for ticket purchase and a short walk from the station to the restaurant.
Tips from local experts:
- Buy regional train tickets via the Trenitalia app or the station ticket machine to avoid lines; validate if required (machines often validate automatically for digital tickets).
- If you prefer staying in Levanto, there are intimate restaurants near the harbour — ask the crew for a recommendation before disembarking.
- Trains between Levanto and Monterosso are frequent (~10–15 minutes travel) but can be crowded in August — aim for the first available train after disembark (about 15–25 minutes) to keep evening plans relaxed.
Romantic dinner at Ristorante Miky — Monterosso al Mare
Reserve a table for two at a seaside restaurant in Monterosso to cap the evening with fresh Ligurian seafood, local wines and a relaxed, intimate atmosphere. (Ristorante Miky is a celebrated choice for fresh fish and a refined setting.)
Tips from local experts:
- Reserve in advance for an outside table — a seaside table makes for a memorable post-sunset dinner; mention if it's a special occasion and the restaurant often adds a small touch.
- Order local specialties like trofie al pesto or the catch-of-the-day; pair with Vermentino or a local rosé for a light, sunset-friendly wine.
- Ask for the bill discretely if you'd like to linger — staff are used to slow, romantic dinners and will let you enjoy dessert or limoncello without hurry.
Evening stroll on Monterosso lungomare — gelato & afterglow
Finish the night with a slow walk along the Monterosso promenade, a gelato or espresso, and a quiet spot to watch the sea under the stars.
Tips from local experts:
- Stop for a gelato at a local gelateria — look for places with mostly locals (smaller queues) for an authentic taste and less sugar-overload options.
- Walk toward the old town side (Fegina to the east) for quieter cobbled streets and cozy bars; the atmosphere is particularly romantic after a summer sunset.
- If mobility is a concern, stick to the flat promenade (lungomare) rather than the old-town steps; most of the seaside path is level and well-lit at night.
