Itinerary
Day 1
Pickup in Nadi, scenic drive to Koroyanitu area, guided hike to summit, cultural storytelling, swim in freshwater pool, and return to Nadi.
Hotel pickup in Nadi
Driver will collect guests from hotels in the Nadi area and begin the scenic countryside transfer toward Koroyanitu. Pickup is door-to-door within Nadi; operator will confirm a 20–30 minute pickup window before the scheduled start.
Tips from local experts:
- Be ready in your hotel lobby 10 minutes before the scheduled pickup time to keep the group on schedule.
- Confirm your full hotel name, room number, and phone at booking so the driver can locate you quickly.
- Wear closed shoes or sandals suitable for a short walk from hotel to vehicle.
Scenic drive to trailhead (countryside & villages)
Drive from Nadi into the interior past farmland and local communities toward the Koroyanitu trail start. Short stops for photos or restroom breaks may be made depending on group needs.
Tips from local experts:
- If you are prone to motion sickness, take medication before the drive as the road includes winding rural segments.
- Keep your camera or phone accessible for country-side photo stops; store valuables in the vehicle during short breaks.
- Carry any personal snacks or medications you may need during the 30–40 minute transfer.
Meet local guide & safety briefing
Arrive at the trail start, meet your experienced local guide, receive a short safety briefing, and prepare for the forest hike (hydration, footwear check, and route overview).
Tips from local experts:
- Listen to the guide's safety briefing — trails can be uneven and muddy in places.
- Use restroom facilities before the hike start; facilities at trailheads are basic or absent.
- Tell the guide about any medical issues or mobility concerns before departure.
Forest hike to the peak (guided)
Guided trek through rainforest trails with opportunities for bird watching and commentary on native flora. The trail ascends to a peak viewpoint; pace is moderate and suited for fit participants used to uphill walking.
Tips from local experts:
- Wear sturdy hiking shoes with good grip — some sections are steep and may be slippery after rain.
- Bring insect repellent and a light long-sleeve layer for forest sections where mosquitoes or sun exposure may occur.
- Carry any personal water beyond the provided 500ml if you expect to need more; dehydration is possible during uphill sections.
Summit viewpoint & cultural storytelling
Short rest at the peak to enjoy panoramic views. The guide will share cultural stories and local context about the land and birdlife.
Tips from local experts:
- Keep belongings secure during viewpoint stops — wind and uneven ground can cause slips.
- Use this time for group photos; the guide can suggest safe vantage points.
- Respect local customs during storytelling; ask the guide before photographing people if present.
Descent to freshwater pool and swim
Walk down to a freshwater pool at the base of a cascade for a quick dip to cool off. Time is allotted for changing and a brief swim; prepare for slippery rocks and natural surroundings.
Tips from local experts:
- Bring a towel, flip-flops, and a change of clothes if you plan to swim (these are listed in the activity attention notes).
- Be careful on wet rocks — enter and exit the pool slowly to avoid slips and do not dive into unknown depths.
- Store electronics in a waterproof pouch or leave them with the group/vehicle while swimming.
Return transfer to Nadi and drop-off
Return drive to Nadi with drop-off at original pickup locations. The vehicle will follow the reverse route through the countryside back to the hotels.
Tips from local experts:
- Keep a small dry bag or spare plastic bag for wet clothes after the swim to avoid soaking other items in the vehicle.
- Confirm your preferred drop-off point with the driver at the start of the return transfer.
- If you require a medical consultation (GP/Doctor) per the included services, notify staff before arrival so arrangements can be coordinated.
