Itinerary
Day 1
Arrival, check-in and one-hour RIB cruise loop of Mukojima and Iwagoshima (route follows the agenda course list).
Check-in, age verification & luggage drop (arrive 30 minutes before departure)
Complete registration at the reception office and receive life jackets. Staff will confirm passenger ages and accept small luggage if required. Use this time for restroom and to store any large bags with staff (dangerous items cannot be accepted).
Tips from local experts:
- Arrive at the reception address 30 minutes before your booked departure to allow for age checks and brief paperwork.
- Bring a small dry bag or secure your phone with a neck strap; staff can accept small luggage but not hazardous items.
- Use nearby public restrooms before boarding — once you board there is no onboard restroom.
RIB Adventure Cruise: Mukojima & Iwagoshima loop
Board the RIB at the pier for a one-hour guided loop following the published course: pier → City Hall front → Jodoji front → Onomichi Bridge → Kamie/Down Efu Islands → Murakami Suigun lookout → Innoshima Bridge → Ohama-saki Lighthouse → Iwagoshima (Itsukushima Shrine) → Yurugiiwa → Mukojima Dock → Onomichi waterway → return to pier. Onboard commentary covers SUIGUN history, local maritime features and best photography points. The captain assigns seating for balance and issues life jackets which must be worn at all times.
Tips from local experts:
- Wear pants and non-slip shoes; piers can be wet and the trip includes some spirited acceleration on open water.
- Secure loose items (hats, phones, cameras) — use neck straps or small waterproof cases to avoid water loss.
- Follow the captain's seating and boarding instructions exactly; life jackets are mandatory and the boat may return early in rough weather.
