Itinerary
Day 1
Door-to-door pickup in Patong, transfer to Phang Nga pier, long-tail boat sightseeing (James Bond Island), visit Koh Panyee for lunch and village walk, visit Wat Suwan Kuha (Monkey Cave) and return to Patong.
Hotel pickup — Patong area
Meet your driver at your Patong-area hotel or arranged meeting point. Pickup window from 09:00; driver will confirm exact meeting point in advance.
Tips from local experts:
- Confirm your full hotel name and room number when you book so the driver can find you quickly.
- Have a small daypack with sunscreen, sunglasses and a lightweight rain layer—weather can change quickly.
- Bring a printed or digital voucher and a form of ID for check-in at the meeting point if requested.
Drive to Phang Nga / Ao Phang Nga pier
Road transfer north from Patong to the Phang Nga pier area to board your private long-tail boat for Phang Nga Bay.
Tips from local experts:
- Expect about 60–90 minutes of road time; bring motion-sickness tablets if you are prone to travel sickness.
- There will be a short restroom and stretch stop before boarding — use it as facilities are limited once on the water.
- Keep phone chargers and valuables in your daypack; the vehicle will be locked at the pier during the boat trip.
Khao Phing Kan (James Bond Island) — sightseeing by long-tail boat
Sightseeing stop at the Khao Phing Kan area (the island group including the famous Ko Tapu 'James Bond' rock). Short stops for photos and shoreline viewing from the long-tail boat.
Tips from local experts:
- Keep cameras and phones in a secure/waterproof case—waves and spray are common from the long-tail boat.
- Do not attempt to climb or touch protected rock formations; follow your guide's instructions and stay on marked paths or boat lanes.
- Morning light is best for photos; be ready to board and disembark quickly to maximize viewing time.
Koh Panyee (Panyee Island) — lunch & village walk
Arrive at Koh Panyee floating village for fresh seafood lunch (Thai / vegetarian / Halal options available) and a short walk to see the mosque, houses on stilts and local life.
Tips from local experts:
- Dress modestly when walking through the village and when visiting the mosque (shoulders and knees covered).
- Carry cash in small denominations for souvenirs and local snacks; some stalls do not accept cards.
- Inform staff of any food allergies before the meal—seafood is a village specialty and may be used widely.
Transfer back to mainland (pier)
Board the long-tail and return to the mainland pier after Koh Panyee to continue the land-side part of the itinerary.
Tips from local experts:
- Keep a dry bag for items you want to protect during the short boat transfer back to the pier.
- Watch your step when boarding/disembarking — boat gangways can be narrow and wet.
- Collect any personal items from the boat before leaving; small items can be difficult to retrieve once in the water.
Wat Suwan Kuha (Suwankuha Temple / Monkey Cave) — cave temple visit
Visit the cave temple complex, view the reclining Buddha inside the cave and the surrounding stalactites and stalagmites. Short walking on uneven surfaces inside the cave.
Tips from local experts:
- Wear modest clothing and remove shoes before entering the temple areas.
- The cave floor can be uneven and slippery—wear stable footwear and take care on steps.
- There are often monkeys near the temple entrance; keep a safe distance and do not feed or approach them.
Return transfer to Patong hotels
Drive from Phang Nga back to Patong with hotel drop-offs. Arrival back in Patong is typically by 15:30 depending on traffic.
Tips from local experts:
- Traffic conditions can vary; allow flexibility for pickup/drop-off timing near the end of the tour.
- Collect all belongings before exiting the vehicle; check pockets and bags for cameras and chargers.
- If you have onward plans, confirm expected arrival time with the driver on boarding so you can plan accordingly.
