A prestigious French meal in my home near the Eiffel Tower. A refined French meal just steps away from the Eiffel Tower, followed by a stroll to admire the Iron Lady. Recommended for families and elderly guests.
This itinerary was created in collaboration with Un guide d'exception, inspired by the tour Champagne foie gras & Eiffel Tour. Please check the tour information during your booking process.
Highlights
- Taste Champagne and foie gras in a local Paris apartment

Itinerary
Day 1
Meet the host, taste Champagne and foie gras in a family-friendly home near the Eiffel Tower, then a short guided stroll past local landmarks to see the Eiffel Tower and (optionally) the Trocadéro viewpoint.
Meet at the host's meeting point (check-in)
Gather at the meeting point. Host will welcome you, confirm any dietary notes (foie gras substitutions available on request), and explain the plan for the next 3 hours.
Tips from local experts:
- Meet promptly at the scheduled start time to allow the full 3-hour experience; the apartment visit requires on-time check-in.
- There is a small step at the apartment entrance—bring a stroller with a parent to lift if needed.
- Public toilets are limited nearby; plan to use facilities before arrival if traveling with small children.
Tasting of Champagne and foie gras at home
Enjoy a relaxed tasting/meal of Champagne and foie gras in the host's cosy apartment. If you prefer not to have foie gras, French cheese can be provided with advance notice. This sitting functions as a light meal—please avoid eating a large lunch beforehand.
Tips from local experts:
- If anyone has dietary restrictions or prefers cheese instead of foie gras, tell the host before arrival so they can prepare an alternative.
- Bring a light jacket—Paris apartments can feel cool in spring even when seated indoors.
- For families: there is space to settle babies on a sofa or bed; notify the host in advance if you need this setup.
Thumb of Napoleon and its gardens (Avenue de Breteuil)
Short walk to Avenue de Breteuil to view the local gardens and the area described by the host as the 'Thumb of Napoleon'—a prestigious avenue noted for historic residences and views toward the Eiffel Tower.
Tips from local experts:
- The avenue is a residential street—stay on sidewalks and avoid blocking private driveways when stopping for photos.
- Carry a small snack or water for children; there are limited kiosks in this stretch.
- This stop includes short standing/viewing time—bring a lightweight stroller or carrier for toddlers.
Military School (École Militaire) — exterior visit
View the 18th-century École Militaire complex from outside while the host shares a short historical overview. This is an exterior visit with seating available nearby for resting.
Tips from local experts:
- This visit is exterior only; expect cobbled or paved surfaces—choose comfortable shoes.
- Benches and sheltered areas are available near the square for elderly guests to rest.
- Mind traffic and tram/road crossings when moving between viewpoints; use marked crossings.
Champs de Mars — stroll and Eiffel Tower view
Walk across to the Champ de Mars for a family-friendly stroll and close-up views of the Eiffel Tower. Time allocated for photos and a relaxed wander through the gardens.
Tips from local experts:
- The Champ de Mars is open ground—keep children within sight, especially near the statue and play areas.
- Public toilets are available on the Champ de Mars but may have queues; plan short bathroom breaks earlier if needed.
- Pont d'Iéna (walk towards the Trocadéro) can be busy—hold children’s hands while crossing towards the river.
Trocadéro viewpoint (optional)
Optional short walk to the Trocadéro esplanade for the classic elevated view of the Eiffel Tower. This stop is presented as optional and can be skipped for a shorter finish back at the meeting area.
Tips from local experts:
- Trocadéro offers panoramic photos but can be windy—bring layered clothing for children and seniors.
- If mobility is limited, note that access to some terraces uses stairs; use ramps where marked or remain on the esplanade level.
- If you plan to stay for photos, be prepared for foot traffic—choose a low-traffic side for group shots.
