Itinerary
Day 1
Meeting, boat transfer through the mangroves and guided tour of the House of Pearls including oyster opening and museum visit.
House of Pearls Journey (boarding, mangroves, guided tour, oyster opening, museum)
Meet at the House of Pearls Reception on Al Rams Road. Board a traditional pearl-divers boat for a scenic transfer through the mangroves to the floating House of Pearls. On arrival a guide explains the history of Arabian pearl diving, the science of cultured pearls on the pontoon, and the legacy of pearl traders. Witness a live oyster-opening demonstration (staff-led) where guests may try opening an oyster; then visit the Pearl Museum and view the Pearl Captain’s Chest. Traditional refreshments (Arabic tea, coffee, dates, juices, water) are served. Time is allowed at the end for browsing souvenirs or a relaxed stroll around the facility before returning by boat to the reception.
Tips from local experts:
- Arrive at House of Pearls Reception (Al Rams Road) at least 10 minutes before the scheduled start time for check-in and briefing.
- Dress modestly and in light layers; bring a windproof layer as it can get chilly and windy while on the boat and pontoon; wear comfortable, non-slip shoes.
- Bring sunscreen, a hat and a small water bottle for daytime departures; secure cameras/phones on board to avoid accidental drops.
