Itinerary
Day 1
A relaxed, self-guided cycling day through Stellenbosch wine country. Meet at Root44 Market to collect bikes and a tastings map, explore vineyards at your leisure with one included tasting, and return bikes at the designated drop-off point.
10:30am Meet in Stellenbosch for Overview & Bike PickUp
Group meet at Root44 Market for a short safety briefing, route overview, handover of bicycles, helmets and the tastings map. This is where you receive your voucher for the included wine tasting at our partner vineyard.

- Arrive 5–10 minutes early and look for the bike station near the Root44 Market central parking area to speed up check-in.
- Bring a government-issued ID (required by most South African wineries for tastings) and wear comfortable, layered clothing for variable spring weather.
- If you have a preferred saddle height or bike type note it in advance; staff will help adjust seating and fit before you ride.
10:45am - 4:25pm Biking & Wine Tasting
Self-guided cycling using the supplied tastings map. Choose nearby vineyards from the map, keep to quiet estate roads and return to the meeting point for bike drop-off. The map highlights our recommended partner vineyard where your one included tasting is hosted. Plan for relaxed stops — aim for 2–4 vineyards depending on pace.

- Pack a small daypack with water, sun protection and a light jacket; many estates have lawns or shaded picnic areas perfect for a short romantic stop.
- Respect winery etiquette: arrive 10–15 minutes before your booked tasting time at the partner vineyard, present your voucher/ID, and avoid drinking and cycling—use the lock provided while tasting.
- Pace the day: target 2–3 short rides between vineyards (10–20 minutes each) rather than long continuous cycling — this keeps the day relaxed and maximizes tasting time.
4:30pm Bike Drop-Off
Return bikes, helmets and locks at the original meeting point. Staff will inspect equipment and conclude the activity. Use this time to collect any wine purchases and confirm safe transport options for bottles if needed.

- Allow 10–15 minutes at drop-off to return gear, collect personal items and get a quick receipt for any winery purchases.
- Leave helmets in the designated bin/rack and hand locks back to staff—check pockets for tasting notes, receipts and ID before leaving.
- If you bought wine, store bottles upright and inform staff at drop-off if you need a temporary box or assistance carrying items to your vehicle.
