Itinerary
Day 1
Full-day private pickup from Tashkent to Amirsoy Resort, Chimgan area, and Charvak Reservoir with scenic stops, optional cable cars or horseback ride, and lakeside relaxation. Total tour duration: 8 hours (including transfers).
Pickup in Tashkent & depart
Private pickup from your Tashkent hotel or agreed central pickup point. Depart for the Chimgan / Amirsoy area by air-conditioned vehicle.
Tips from local experts:
- Our guide will contact you by WhatsApp the day before to confirm an exact pickup time and meeting point — have your phone available.
- Be ready in the hotel lobby 5–10 minutes before the confirmed pickup time to keep the schedule.
- Pack a small daypack (water, sun protection, light jacket); larger luggage should remain at your hotel.
Amirsoy Resort — cable car to Kumbel Ridge
Visit Amirsoy Resort. Time reserved for a cable car ride up to the Kumbel Ridge (approx. 2,300 m) for panoramic views of the Chimgan range and Big Chimgan peak. Cable car fees are not included in the tour price.
Tips from local experts:
- Cable car tickets and chairlift fees are paid locally — bring cash (local currency) as some counters may not accept cards.
- Temperatures at altitude are noticeably cooler — bring a light windproof layer even in warm months.
- Wear sturdy shoes for short walks at the top; paths can be uneven and windy.
Drive to Chimgan campsite
Short transfer from Amirsoy to the Chimgan campsite/area at the base of the mountains. Prepare for the next activity — either a cable-car ascent toward Big Chimgan or a guided horseback ride along the gorge.
Tips from local experts:
- Inform the guide before this transfer if you prefer the cable car or the horseback option — the guide will confirm local availability.
- If choosing horseback, bring pants and closed-toe shoes; short rides are common and helmets may be provided locally.
- Carry a small amount of local cash for activity fees or photographs offered by local vendors.
Chimgan — Big Chimgan observation or horseback ride
At Chimgan you can choose a cable-car ascent to the Big Chimgan observation area or a scenic horseback ride along the mountain gorge at the base. Fees for the cable car or horse rental are paid locally and are not included.
Tips from local experts:
- Cable car or horse-ride availability can change with weather; the guide will advise on the day and suggest the best option.
- Bring sunglasses and sunscreen — UV exposure increases quickly at higher altitudes.
- If you have back or mobility issues, choose the cable car (less physical strain) and inform the guide so staff can assist.
Transfer to Charvak Reservoir (Charvak Lake)
Drive down to Charvak Reservoir for lakeside time — beaches, family camps, and resorts line parts of the shore. Time here is reserved for relaxation, short walks along the water, or a picnic (lunch not included).
Tips from local experts:
- If you plan to swim, bring swimwear and a quick-dry towel; some beach areas are pebbly rather than sandy.
- Local kiosks and small cafes are usually available at the main beach areas; bring cash for food and drinks.
- There can be limited public restroom facilities at some lakeside spots — use facilities before leaving the vehicle when possible.
Charvak Lake — lakeside relaxation and picnic time
Relax by the turquoise waters of Charvak, enjoy the scenery, walk along the shore, or have a lakeside picnic. This is free time; lunch and any beach activities are not included in the tour price.
Tips from local experts:
- Bring a hat and sunscreen — shade is limited in some lakeside picnic spots.
- If you need a quieter spot, ask the guide to suggest a less-crowded area away from main public beaches.
- Keep personal belongings secure; if you leave items in the vehicle, lock valuables or keep them with the guide.
Return transfer to Tashkent
Private drive back to Tashkent. The guide will drop you at your original pickup point or an agreed central location in the city.
Tips from local experts:
- Expect to arrive back in Tashkent in the mid-afternoon; confirm with the guide if you need a specific drop-off time or location.
- If you fell asleep in the vehicle, double-check you have all belongings before leaving — check pockets and camera bags.
- Traffic can vary on return; the guide will adjust routing to return you as efficiently as possible while keeping safety in mind.
