Tulum in 1 Day for Friends - Guided snorkeling over Tulum's reef with snorkel equipment provided

Meeting at Playa Pescadores in Tulum. We walk a few meters to the beach, board a small boat to view the Tulum archaeological zone from the water, then move to the reef for guided snorkeling with life jackets and full snorkel gear provided. The tour lasts 1 hour 30 minutes. Start times: 10:00 or 12:00. Entrance fee to Parque del Jaguar (Tulum National Park access) is not included.

Itinerary

Day 1

90-minute guided snorkeling experience. Example schedule shown for a 10:00 departure (the same sequence applies to the 12:00 departure).

Meet at Playa Pescadores (check-in)

10:00 – 10:10 • 10m

Arrive at the meeting point on Playa Pescadores. Staff will greet the group, confirm bookings, and allow you to park if you arrive by car. Short safety briefing on the sand before boarding.

Board boat and transit to archaeological viewpoint

Walk a few meters to the launch point. Board the boat with assistance from the crew. Short, calm transit to the seafront of the Tulum archaeological zone; crew give a brief historical overview while you take photos.

  • A life jacket will be provided and must be worn for the boat transit and snorkel.

Short stop in front of the Tulum archaeological site for photo opportunities and a concise, factual introduction to the site from the crew. Guests remain on the boat; no landings are included.

Guided snorkeling at the reef

10:35 – 11:15 • 40m

Disembark at the designated snorkeling spot. Crew fit fins and masks, provide life jackets, and guide you in small groups over the reef to observe turtles, rays, and reef fish. Staff remain close to participants at all times.

Snorkel area offshore from Tulum (Caribbean Sea, near Tulum National Park)

Tips from local experts:

  • Remove sunscreen right before entering the water and use reef-safe sunscreen; avoid applying oil-based products before snorkeling.
  • Do not touch coral or wildlife; stay with the guide and use slow, controlled kicks with your fins.
  • If you get cold easily, bring a thin neoprene vest; crew can advise on buoyancy and technique before entering.

Return to Playa Pescadores and trip conclusion

11:15 – 11:30 • 15m

Boat returns to the beach. Staff assist with disembarkation, equipment return and a short safety/check-out. Tour ends at the original meeting point.
