Itinerary
Day 1
Half-day combined ATV and Ayung River rafting adventure with included lunch and hotel transfer (private shuttle when selected).
Hotel pickup / Transfer to ATV base (private shuttle when selected)
Private air-conditioned shuttle picks you up from your hotel or agreed meeting point in the Ubud pickup area and transfers you to the ATV base. If you opted to meet on location, meet at central Ubud meeting point at the start time.
Tips from local experts:
- Have your booking voucher and room name ready for the driver to speed pickup; pickup is from the hotel lobby or main entrance.
- If you selected private shuttle, confirm pick-up time with the operator the evening before; drivers typically wait 5–10 minutes past scheduled time.
- Carry a light daypack with sunscreen and your swimwear (change before rafting) — the shuttle is air-conditioned and has limited luggage space.
ATV safety briefing & gearing
Arrive at the ATV base for a short safety briefing, helmet fitting and basic handling practice before the guided quad route.
Tips from local experts:
- Wear closed-toe shoes and comfortable trousers; long hair should be tied back for helmet fit.
- Listen carefully to the guide during the briefing — follow hand signals and stay behind the guide for safety on narrow trails.
- Secure any loose items (phones, sunglasses) in a water-resistant bag or leave them in the shuttle; helmets and gloves are provided.
Guided ATV quad ride
Guided off-road ATV ride through rice fields, jungle tracks, tunnel features and a riverside route with local scenery and village views.
Tips from local experts:
- Expect dust and light splashes — wear clothing you don't mind getting dusty or wet.
- Follow the guide’s pace; maintain safe spacing to avoid surprise stops on narrow single-track sections.
- If you're new to ATVs, tell the guide — they can give extra instruction and keep you toward the back for a gentler pace.
Transfer to Ayung River rafting start point
Short transfer from the ATV area to the Ayung River rafting meeting point. Time to change into swimwear if needed.
Tips from local experts:
- Carry a change of clothes and a plastic bag for wet swimwear — towels are provided at the rafting facility.
- Lock or leave valuables in the shuttle; rafting providers generally offer basic storage but bring minimal items.
- If you need to use restroom facilities, do so before boarding the raft; some river access points have limited facilities.
White-water rafting on the Ayung River
Guided rafting trip down the Ayung River — paddle through a series of rapids and enjoy views of waterfalls, stone carvings and riverside jungle. Rafting equipment, guide and lifejackets provided.
Tips from local experts:
- Wear quick-dry clothing; footwear with straps (water shoes or secure sandals) is recommended for the raft.
- Follow your guide's instructions at all times and wear the provided lifejacket; if you fall out, float on your back with feet downstream.
- Protect electronics in a dry bag or leave them with the shuttle; many operators offer secure storage for belongings.
Buffet lunch, towels and shower facilities
Post-activity buffet lunch served at the rafting facility or restaurant area. Towels and shower facilities are available to freshen up after rafting.
Tips from local experts:
- If you have dietary restrictions or allergies, notify staff when you arrive at the buffet so they can advise on safe choices.
- Bring a small towel or use the provided towel; shower facilities are typically basic but functional for a quick change.
- Allow extra time after the meal for drying and packing — arrivers are often eager to change before the return transfer.
Return transfer and hotel drop-off (private shuttle when selected)
Private shuttle returns you to your Ubud-area hotel or agreed drop-off point. End of tour.
Tips from local experts:
- Confirm your preferred drop-off location with the driver (hotel entrance or a nearby landmark) to avoid confusion.
- Keep your room key and any personal belongings with you when boarding; staff will not be able to re-enter hotels after departure.
- If your onward plans require a specific arrival time back at the hotel, inform the driver at the start of the trip so they can plan the route.
