Itinerary
Day 1
Full-day private photography tour across eastern and central Bali, starting with an early pickup from your hotel in the Ubud area and returning the same evening.
Hotel pick-up (private vehicle)
Private pickup from your hotel in the Ubud area. Meet your driver and guide, settle into the air-conditioned vehicle and brief on the day's plan, photography tips and temple dress code.
Tips from local experts:
- Confirm pickup location and a local phone number the evening before; drivers typically wait 5–10 minutes at the agreed spot.
- Dress in layers for the early morning (it will be cooler at dawn); pack a lightweight cover-up for after sunrise.
- Have your camera batteries charged and an empty SD card ready — the day is photo-heavy.
Pura Lempuyang (Gates of Heaven) — photo stop
Arrive early at Pura Lempuyang Luhur to photograph the famous 'Gates of Heaven' framing Mount Agung and to avoid mid-morning crowds. Guide will advise on respectful movement, composition and short waiting windows for clearer shots.
Tips from local experts:
- Bring a sarong or wear modest clothing — some temples require sarongs and sashes; your guide can assist if needed.
- Arrive before sunrise light softens; keep movements slow and quiet to respect worshippers and get clearer shots.
- Shoes are removed for some temple areas; wear easy-on footwear and keep small valuables secure when negotiating stairs.
Tirta Gangga Water Palace — explore & photos
Stroll the pools, stone carvings and lush gardens at Tirta Gangga. The guide will suggest angles that highlight reflections and symmetry for romantic couple shots.
Tips from local experts:
- Pay attention to wet paths around pools—wear shoes with good grip for safer movement and better framing options.
- Ask your guide for quieter corners and reflection shots; early-to-mid morning photos avoid harsh overhead light.
- Respect any roped-off areas and local visitors using the site for worship; keep sessions brief in busy spots.
Lunch & Jungle Swing (photo stop)
Lunch at a local eatery near the jungle-swing site followed by time at the swing for iconic aerial/portrait shots. The guide coordinates timing to maximize light and privacy.
Tips from local experts:
- Choose a lighter meal before the swing to stay comfortable on the activity; indicate any dietary restrictions to your guide.
- If you intend to use the swing, wear secure clothing and avoid loose accessories; the operator will provide waist straps and safety instructions.
- Bring a small towel or wet wipe for quick cleanup after the swing and before continuing photos.
Tukad Cepung Waterfall — light-shaft photos
Visit Tukad Cepung to photograph the waterfall’s cave opening and light shafts. The guide times the visit for good light and assists with safe access down to the waterfall area.
Tips from local experts:
- Wear quick-dry clothes and shoes that can get wet; river rocks are slippery and the path includes steps and uneven ground.
- Bring a waterproof cover for electronics or a dry bag; humidity and spray are significant near the falls.
- There are low-light conditions in the cave; ask your guide for steady footholds if you plan handheld long-exposure shots.
Tegalalang Rice Terraces — stroll & sunset-friendly photos
Walk the terraces at Tegalalang for classic layered-rice-field compositions and intimate couple portraits among the palms and swing viewpoints. Guide chooses quieter paths to reduce crowd interference.
Tips from local experts:
- A small entrance fee may apply for terrace access; carry small change and ask your guide to handle local payments where possible.
- Stick to designated paths to avoid damaging crops and to respect local farmers' land.
- Golden-hour light is flattering here; position yourselves with the terraces in the background for warm, romantic tones.
Return to hotel (transfer)
Depart Tegalalang and transfer back to your hotel in the agreed drop-off area. Use this time to relax, review the day's plan with your guide and confirm any follow-up questions.
Tips from local experts:
- Keep small personal items and any souvenirs secure in the vehicle; drivers will help load luggage if needed.
- If you want photos reviewed on the guide’s device, ask during the transfer — bandwidth and daylight make it easier to check shots on the way back.
- Confirm expected hotel arrival time with your guide so you can plan shower/relaxation time before dinner.
Arrival at your hotel (drop-off)
Drop-off at your hotel in Ubud. The guide will confirm the day’s highlights and collect any feedback. Tour concludes upon arrival.
Tips from local experts:
- Keep your guide’s contact or the operator's local phone handy in case of nearby follow-up questions or photo-delivery arrangements.
- Allow a few minutes to settle and check any personal items before leaving the vehicle.
- If you want post-processing or digital delivery of photos, ask your guide about the process and expected timeline.
