Itinerary

Day 1

Full-day group coach tour from Yerevan visiting Tsaghkadzor and Lake Sevan with a lakeside lunch stop. Meet at Republic Square; return to Yerevan end of day.

Meet at Republic Square (start point)

10:00 – 10:15 • 15m

Group meeting point in central Yerevan. Guide will confirm names, share the day's plan, and depart promptly for Tsaghkadzor.

Republic Square, Yerevan 0010, Armenia

Tips from local experts:

  • Arrive 5–10 minutes early; the guide will stand close to the central fountain on the square holding a sign.
  • Carry a small backpack with water and a light jacket—the vehicle is climate-controlled but mountain weather can change.
  • Public restrooms are available inside nearby buildings (e.g., shopping arcades) if needed before departure.

Kecharis Monastery (drive + visit)

10:15 – 12:00 • 1h 45m

Drive from Yerevan to Tsaghkadzor then visit Kecharis Monastery (11th–13th century complex). Time here includes travel from Yerevan and on-site exploration of the church ensemble and grounds.

Khachatur Kecharetsi St, Tsaghkadzor 2310, Armenia

Tips from local experts:

  • Wear comfortable shoes — the monastery grounds have uneven stone surfaces and short steps.
  • Respect religious sites: modest clothing and quiet behavior are requested inside the churches.
  • There is limited shade around the complex; bring a hat and sunscreen for sunny days.

Tsaghkadzor Ropeway (panoramic ride)

12:00 – 12:45 • 45m

Short transfer within Tsaghkadzor to the ropeway area with time allocated for the ropeway experience and nearby viewpoints. Ride availability may vary seasonally; guests should allow time for ticket queues.

Tsaghkadzor Ropeway, Tsaghkadzor 2310, Armenia

Tips from local experts:

  • Bring a camera or phone with a charged battery—views from the ropeway are expansive and great for group photos.
  • Carry a small amount of local cash for ropeway tickets or snack kiosks if card terminals are unavailable.
  • Be mindful of boarding instructions and follow staff guidance for a smooth group embarkation.

Lake Sevan: peninsula walk & lakeside lunch (trout BBQ)

12:45 – 15:00 • 2h 15m

Drive from Tsaghkadzor to Lake Sevan. Time at the peninsula for a lakeside walk and lunch at a local restaurant; lunch (trout BBQ) is not included and is arranged on-site. After lunch there will be time to enjoy the lakeshore views.

Lake Sevan, Sevan, Armenia

Tips from local experts:

  • Lunch is excluded—plan to bring cash or card; ask your guide for the recommended lakeside restaurant on arrival.
  • Lake Sevan can be windy—bring a light windbreaker or layers for comfort during the walk.
  • Public toilets and small souvenir stalls are available near the peninsula; keep belongings secure when close to the water.

Sevanavank Monastery (visit & return to Yerevan)

15:00 – 17:30 • 2h 30m

Visit Sevanavank Monastery on the peninsula for panoramic views of the lake and then board the coach for the return drive to Yerevan. Time allocated includes site exploration and the transfer back to the city, finishing the tour at the original meeting point area.

Sevanavank Monastery, Sevan, Armenia

Tips from local experts:

  • Sevanavank involves short uphill sections and stone steps—those with mobility concerns should plan accordingly.
  • Allow extra time for group photo stops; the best views face west toward the lake and mountains.
  • Keep any trash with you until you find a bin; facilities at the site are limited but there are kiosks near the parking area.
