Itinerary
Day 1
Meet at Agios Sostis Port (Λιμάνι Αγίου Σώστη) — boarding & safety briefing
Meet your captain at the official beach meeting point near Agios Sostis. Crew will confirm bookings, provide snorkel equipment, and guide boarding. Boarding requires stepping onto the rear of the boat; expect a short walk in shallow water (≈10 m).
Tips from local experts:
- Wear shoes that can get wet — you’ll walk ~10 m through shallow water to board the boat.
- Bring a small waterproof bag for phone/camera; crew will give a brief safety and boarding demonstration.
- Confirm your exact pickup or meeting location via the WhatsApp confirmation sent after booking.
Photo pass by Cameo Island (Agios Sostis)
Captain will navigate close to Cameo Island at Agios Sostis for photos. The island is accessible by a small rope bridge from the shore but is not boarded from the boat; the boat will come close to allow photographs.
Tips from local experts:
- Have your camera ready — the captain will pause briefly for photos.
- If you want shots with minimal glare, ask the captain for a slight reposition when the sun is lower.
- Keep personal items secure; short stops mean limited time on deck for photography.
Zakynthos Marine Park — turtle spotting
Cruise through the marine park area searching for Caretta caretta sea turtles. The small-boat approach aims to minimise disturbance; if the captain judges it safe, guests may be allowed to swim near turtles.
Tips from local experts:
- Listen to the crew about approaching turtles — they will advise when it’s safe to enter the water.
- Use snorkel gear provided; keep movement slow and quiet in the water to avoid stressing wildlife.
- Keep sunscreen reef-safe if you plan to swim — it helps protect local marine life.
Marathonisi (Turtle Island) — beach stop & swim
Navigate around Marathonisi, land at the main beach or float alongside for a swim. Time to relax on sand, swim in calm waters, and enjoy floating beach vendors (drinks/ice cream may be available from other boats).
Tips from local experts:
- If you plan to set foot on the beach, bring footwear for the short walk from the boat.
- Floating bars may accept cash only; bring a small amount if you want a cold drink or ice cream.
- Keep an eye on personal belongings while swimming; place valuables in the provided waterproof bag.
Keri Caves — cave swims and cliff views
Approach and enter the Keri Caves where the small boat can access caves and coves larger vessels cannot. Opportunities for short swims and to admire bright-blue reflections inside the caves.
Tips from local experts:
- Follow the crew’s guidance when entering caves — surfaces can be slippery and currents may vary.
- Keep movement calm when swimming between caves; strong flashes and loud noises can disturb others.
- If you’re prone to seasickness, take preventative measures before this section — cave approaches can involve tighter manoeuvres.
Mizithres rocks — swim, beach visit and sunset viewing
Final stop at the Mizithres rock formation. Time for a last swim or short beach visit before the captain positions the boat for a calm, photogenic sunset framed by the white limestone and electric-blue water.
Tips from local experts:
- Bring a light layer for when the sun sets — sea breeze can be cool after evening swims.
- For best sunset photos, have a waterproof camera or secure your phone in a dry pouch; ask the captain to position the boat for photography.
- If you want to swim after sunset, check with the crew — visibility changes quickly once daylight fades.
Return to Agios Sostis — disembark
Captain returns to the meeting beach at Agios Sostis. Crew will assist with stepping off the boat and the short shallow-water walk to the beach. If you arranged a hotel transfer, confirm pickup meeting with staff after disembarkation.
Tips from local experts:
- Expect a short wade back to shore; keep water shoes on until fully ashore.
- If you used the included transfer, confirm the pickup point with the crew or driver after disembarkation.
- Gather all personal items before leaving the boat — check under seats and in shared compartments.
