Day 1: Fez – Ifrane – Erfoud – MerzougaWe start our journey early in the morning and head for the Middle Atlas Mountains. Stop for a coffee in Ifran, also known as «Switzerland of Morocco» with its chalet like houses. Shortly after it’s time to feed the monkeys! They life in a cedar forest and love the sweet bananas which you can buy at the roadside. From here we are heading south through several typical villages and you will have the opportunity to spot nomad families living in their tents along the road.After our lunch in Midelt we continue our drive and enjoy panoramic views crossing the Tizi N' Talghoumt pass. In Erfoud, you can enjoy a fantastic view of the valley of the river Ziz lined with thousands of date palms. Now we’re almost at the dunes! Before arriving in Merzouga, we will stop in the black desert to take some pictures with the red dunes of Merzouga in the back while the sun sinks down behind the hills of sand. It is only a short drive now to your home of the night. Dinner and overnight in the desert lodge. Day 2: The Dunes Erg Chebbi of MerzougaAfter breakfast in your lodge, we hop on our 4x4 to explore the area around the desert city Merzouga: visit the black people in the village of Khamlia and enjoy their music and dance; cross desert plateaus, and visit a Berber family in their tent for lunch. You can learn how they live in their tents with their goats, sheep and working donkeys.Afterwards, we catch a 4x4 gravel road to the lake of Merzouga (also named Lake Tamezguida), which appears seasonal from November to May when it is rainy season in the Middle Atlas. It is the best spot to observe desert birds and sometimes even Flamingos.After returning to your lodge, you will experience a one hour camel ride to reach the desert camp in the middle of the big dunes which reach up to 160 m at sunset. Enjoy your evening dining in a berber tent, look for shooting stars at the camp fire and sleep in a nomad tent! Day 3: Merzouga – Rissani – Todra Gorges – Dades GorgesWake up by the first strays of light to watch the sunrise over the sahara before you enjoy your typical breakfast. If you like, you can catch a board and try some sandboarding after walking up a big dune next to the camp. We return on the camel's back or 4x4 to the desert lodge where a nice shower awaits us. In Rissani we will have the opportunity to visit the local market with the «donkey parking» and have a look at some fossils outside the city.After lunch break, we will follow the road along the river to reach the gorges of Todra, where you can take a short but spectacular hike between the up to 300 m high rock walls. Before arriving at our Riad for the night in the Dades valley, we head to Boumalne Dades where you can make some nice pictures of the special rock formations which look like monkey hands. Dinner and overnight at a Riad in Dades. Day 4: Dades Gorges – Valley of Roses – Ouarzazate – Aït Ben Haddou – Telouet Kasbah – MarrakechToday we will see a lot of different landscapes on our way to Marrakech. Admire the views of the Valley of a thousand Kasbahs and the famous Valley of Roses along the road. In the desert city Ouarzazate, also knows as «Hollywood of Morocco»,you can explore the acient Kasbah of Taourirt, which was built in the Glaoui dynasty. A little outside of Ouarzazate lies Aït Ben Haddou, the fortified clay city with its numerous ksars and kasbahs, where several famous movies such as Gladiator, Kingdom of Heaven and Prince of Persia have been shot. This photogenic city is also listed as UNESCO World Heritage Site.After the visit and enjoying your lunch in Aït Ben Haddou, we continue our trip to the high Atlas mountains and make a stop at the «Telouet Kasbah» before heading back to Marrakech, we pass the High Atlas mountains over the Tizi n’Tichka pass with scenic views along the road and many opportunities to take photos. Evening arrival in Marrakech at your Riad or Hotel.

Day 1: Explore Fes Your first day is dedicated to explore the spiritual and cultural capital of the Kingdom together with a local guide. Fes is the religious, artistic and intellectual center of Morocco as well as the oldest and most famous of the imperial cities. Tour the huge Medina «Fes el-Bali», visit the beautiful buildings of the Medersas of Bou Inania and El-Attarine (Koran schools for religious studies), the University and Mosque of Karaouine and the Nejjarine Museum for wooden arts. After a lunchbreak in one of the hunderts of restaurants in the medina, you have the opportunity to explore the various souks which offer different handicrafts. Every visitor of Fes has to get lost at least once in the labyrinth of the small streets of the Medina! But don't worry, you can give some coins to a child to guide you out or just follow one of the bigger «main streets» to the next gate. Another highlight are the famous tanneries, where the leather is processed still the same as hunderts of years ago. You can observe the workers from a lookout and they will be glad to explain you the different workings steps if you are willing to bargain for a bag or new belt afterwards. But be aware of the bad smelling of the furs and coloring goods! Individual dinner in the Medina of Fes. Overnight at your Riad. In Rissani we will have the opportunity to visit the local market with the «donkey parking», which takes place 3 times per week (Sun/Tue/Thu). This market is very authentic and you can observe the men from the area bargaining about birds, sheep and silver jewelry. After the lunch break we follow the road further in direction Taouz.There is a hidden 1-hour-track only accessible by 4x4 to the dunes of Ouzina. Ouzina lies on the Paris-Dakar-Ralley route and has some photogenic and less visited dunes to offer. Dinner and overnight in a lodge in Ouzina. Day 5: Ouzina – Ramlia – Foum Mharech – Todra GorgesAfter breakfast in your lodge we start our daily journey through a moon-like stone desert which is rarely travelled by tourists. We will pass by several Berber families which still live in their tents and follow the Ziz river until Ramlia. The next highlight is the dried lake Maider where you'll have the feeling to be in another world. Now it is only a short drive until the Oasis Foum Mharech.After your picnic lunch along the way we will soon reach the concrete road again which leads us over the Tizi-N-Tifrkhinn pass to the Todra Gorges. Overnight with dinner in a Riad in Todra. Day 6: Todra Gorges – Dades Gorges – Ouarzazate Today after breakfast we leave Todra Gorges with its up to 300 m high rock walls in direction Dades valley. We head to Boumalne Dades where you can make some nice pictures of the special rock formations which look like monkey hands and the spectacular winding road in the middle of the gorge landscape.We will see a lot of different landscapes on our way direction Marrakech. Admire the views of the Valley of a thousand Kasbahs and the famous Valley of Roses along the road, where you will enjoy your lunch. We continue to the desert city Ouarzazate, also known as «Hollywood of Morocco». You can explore the acient Kasbah of Taourirt, which was built in the Glaoui dynasty and the film museum. Day 8: Explore MarrakechIn the morning after breakfast, you’ll visit the famous Palais de Bahia, with its fantastic courtyards and mosaic walls built for Bou Ahmed. Stroll through the Jewish Quarter and notice thedifference in architecture in this district. Visit the hidden Saadian tombs built during the reign of Sultan Ahmed El Mansour in 1557.You’ll arrive at the Koutoubia mosque and the Djemaa el Fna-square, where you can drink some fresh pressed orange juice while observing the bustle of the snake charmers, henna tatoo artists and water sellers.In the afternoon, you’ll visit the beautiful Majorelle Garden. This botanical garden is a quiet oasis and the former home of the famous french designer Yves Saint Laurent. Zagora is the last city before the real wilderness starts. Upon arrival, you’ll meet your camel driver and head to the desert on top of your friendly camel while the sun sinks below the horizon. Just before dark, you will arrive at the Sahara Desert Camp where you can settle in your private tent. A traditional dinner is served and you can spend the night watching for shooting stars or dance around the camp fire to the beat of the desert drums. Day 2: Zagora – Draa Valley – Ouarzazate – Telouet Kasbah – MarrakechToday, you can get up early to enjoy the first rays of sunlight over the desert. Enjoy your breakfast in the camp and hop on your camel for the ride back to Zagora.On our way back through the Draa Valley in direction Marrakech we’ll stop in Ouarzazate for lunch and sightseeing in the Kasbah Taourirt or in the movie museum. The city of Ouarzazate with its film making studios hosts a lot of international film productions and is also known as «Hollywood of Morocco». After leaving Ouarzazate, you take a detour to the bizzare Telouet Kasbah which once belonged to the great Glaoui family and has a stratetic position with a fantastic view. Nowadays, it is fast crumbling into the red earth, but still an extraordinary site to visit.Afterwards, we’re heading back to Marrakech and your Hotel/Riad over the Atlas Mountains.

You will be picked up in your Hotel or Riad in Marrakech in the morning and head direction High Atlas mountains. Stop on the way in Tahanaout to enjoy a panoramic view over the valley full of olive trees and an ancient Berber village to take some nice pictures. During the drive to Ouirgane, you'll experience the beautiful landscape with the traditional Berber villages in the green valleys. If you like, you can visit a local women's Argan oil co-operative and buy some nice souvenirs. You will pass by at a local family's home to see how they live and work in the small mountain villages and to enjoy some freshly brewed mint tea. Soon you'll arrive at Imlil, which is the starting point for multiple day trekkings to Jebel Toubkal, the second highest mountain in Africa. Your local guide is already awaiting you for a scenic 1 hour walk around the village and surroundings of Imlil. If you don't feel like walking, you can relax and enjoy panoramic views on a terrace in the village. Lunch is served in a rural guest house from a local family. Return transfer to Marrakech and drop off at your Hotel or Riad in the medina in the late afternoon.

DAY 1: Marrakech - Ouarzazate - Ait Ben Haddou - Dades ValleyThis memorable trip starts with the scenic drive from Marrakech over the Tizi-N-Tichka pass (2’260 m), where you can spot the traditional Berber villages with its inhabitants working and chatting at the roadside. We can stop in a local co-operative run by women who extract the Argan oil from the trees and discover how it is processed into cooking oil and cosmetics. You can taste and buy the products if you like. Shortly before the desert capital Ouarzazate, you have the opportunity to visit the famous Kasbah Aït-Ben-Haddou, the fortified clay city with its numerous ksars and kasbahs, where several famous movies such as Gladiator, Kingdom of Heaven and Prince of Persia have been shot.After your lunch break in a typical restaurant in Aït-Ben-Haddou or Ouarzazate, you can visit the old kasbah of Ouarzazate named Taourirt or have a look at the movie museum just on the other side of the road.Continue your journey through the Valley of Roses to the Dades Valley, where we stay overnight. DAY 2: Dades Valley - Todra Gorges - MerzougaAfter breakfast, we continue along the road of the Kasbahs to the Todra Gorges. The river Todra has formed these enormous and impressive stone walls over thousands of years. This is a great opportunity to take photos and go for a short walk in the gorges.After lunch along the way it is time for the desert! Upon arrival in Merzouga, you have time to rest a bit in the lodge where you can put your luggage. Meet your camel driver and head to the desert on top of your friendly camel. After arriving at the Sahara Desert Camp, you can climb the high dunes and enjoy the incredible views while the sun sinks below the horizon. Settle in your private tent and drink some mint tea before the traditional dinner is served. You can spend the night watching for shooting stars or dance around the camp fire to the beat of the desert drums. DAY 3: Merzouga - Draa Valley - Ouarzazate - MarrakechToday, you can get up early to enjoy the first rays of sunlight over the desert. Enjoy your breakfast in the camp and hop on your camel or 4x4 for the ride back to Merzouga. On our way back through the Draa Valley in direction Marrakech we’ll stop at different sites to take some pictures of this beautiful valley and its river, the longest one in Morocco. After lunch along the way, we’re heading back to Marrakech and your Hotel/Riad over the Atlas Mountains.

Day 1: Fes - Ifrane - Monkey Forest - Midelt - Erfoud - Merzouga DesertWe start our journey early in the morning and head for the Middle Atlas Mountains. Stop for a coffee in Ifran, also known as «Switzerland of Morocco» with its chalet like houses. Shortly after it’s time to feed the monkeys! They life in a cedar forest and love the sweet bananas which you can buy at the roadside. From here we are heading south through several typical villages and you will have the opportunity to spot nomad families living in their tents along the road.After our lunch in Midelt we continue our drive and enjoy panoramic views crossing the Tizi N' Talghoumt pass. In Erfoud, you can enjoy a fantastic view of the valley of the river Ziz lined with thousands of date palms. Now we’re almost at the dunes! After arriving in Merzouga, you will experience a one hour camel ride to reach the desert camp while the sun sinks down behind the dunes. Enjoy your evening dining in a berber tent, look for shooting stars at the camp fire and sleep in nomad tent! Day 2: Merzouga - Rissani - Erfoud - Todra Gorges - Dades ValleyWake up by the first strays of light to watch the sunrise over the sahara before you enjoy your typical breakfast. We return on the camel's back or 4x4 to the desert lodge where a nice shower awaits us. In Rissani we will have the opportunity to visit the local market with the «donkey parking» and have a look at some fossils outside the city.After lunch break, we will follow the road along the river to reach the gorges of Todra, where you can take a short but spectacular hike between the up to 300 m high rock walls. Before arriving at our Riad for the night in the Dades valley, we head to Boumalne Dades where you can make some nice pictures of the special rock formations which look like monkey hands. Dinner and overnight at a Riad in Dades. Day 3: Dades Valley - Valley of Roses - Ouarzazate - Aït Ben-Haddou - High Atlas - MarrakechToday we will see a lot of different landscapes on our way to Marrakech. Admire the views of the Valley of a thousand Kasbahs and the famous Valley of Roses along the road. In the desert city Ouarzazate, also knows as «Hollywood of Morocco»,you can explore the acient Kasbah of Taourirt, which was built in the Glaoui dynasty. A little outside of Ouarzazate lies Aït Ben Haddou, the fortified clay city with its numerous ksars and kasbahs, where several famous movies such as Gladiator, Kingdom of Heaven and Prince of Persia have been shot. This photogenic city is also listed as UNESCO World Heritage Site.After the visit and enjoying your lunch in Aït Ben-Haddou, we pass the High Atlas mountains over the Tizi n’Tichka pass with scenic views along the road and many opportunities to take photos. Evening arrival in Marrakech at your Riad or Hotel.

DAY 1: Arrival in Marrakech Welcome to Morocco! You will be picked up by your driver after arrival at Marrakech Menara Airport and we will bring you to your Riad in the medina. Depending on your arrival time, you have some free time to relax in the Riad, or you can go out on your own to explore the old town with its huge Souks. Individual lunch and dinner in the Medina or at Jemaa el Fna-square while observing the bustle of the snake charmers, henna tattoo artists and water sellers. Overnight in a Riad in the medina. DAY 2: Marrakech – Aït Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate (200 km) After a rich moroccan breakfast in your Riad, the adventure begins! This photogenic city is also listed as UNESCO World Heritage Site. Afterwards, you can visit the old kasbah of Ouarzazate with its medina named Taourirt or have a look at the movie museum just on the other side of the road. Dinner and overnight in a Riad in Ouarzazate. DAY 3: Ouarzazate – M'Hamid (250 km)After breakfast in your Riad you have the opportunity to visit one of the film studios of Ouarzazate. In the Atlas Corporation film studios you can join a 1 h guided tour, and you can discover the diverse sets and listen to the anecdotes of the multiple movies and actors. Several famous movies like Gladiator, Babel, Prince of Persia and recently The Physician have been shot in those studios. After crossing the Anti-Atlas, you arrive at the green and peaceful Draa Valley which is famous for its huge date groves and henna fields. Along the way, we will enjoy lunch and buy some food for our trekking. Now it is time for the desert! The village M'Hamid lies at the end of the road from Marrakech. From there on only undiscovered desert! Here we'll meet our caravane with the camels and local guides/cooks. Dinner and overnight in your tent outside M'Hamid. DAY 4: Start of the Trekking (Hiking distance 15 km)After a rich breakfast, the guides will pack your equipment on the camels and we start the trekking at about 9 o'clock. We are hiking from M'Hamid through a palm grove in the shade of palm trees. Extended lunch break and time to relax, then continue towards Sidi Naji for about 2 hours more. In the late afternoon, we build up our camp and it is time to relax. Freshly cooked dinner under the evening sky and second night in the tent or on mattresses under the sky. DAY 5: Trekking to Erg Ezahar (Hiking distance 16 km) After your yummy breakfast in the desert, we will start our second day of hiking in the beautiful landscape and to the rythm of your camels. We'll enjoy our lunch in the shade of big tamarisk trees and continue our way in the afternoon for another 2 hours until we reach the large dune of Erg Ezahar. This big dune lies in the middle of smaller golden dunes and is a howling dune which wails when the wind kicks up. Enjoy this beautiful view while your guides install our camp under a big tree below the golden dune. Climb the big dune for sunset and take some nice pictures of this fascinating landscape. Dinner will be prepared by our guides and you'll enjoy your third night in your tent or outside. DAY 6: Trekking to Erg Laghair (Hiking distance 11 km) Today we start our Trekking in direction of Erg Smar, an old abandonned village which the desert sands took over while the years were passing by. After our lunch break under some big tamarisk trees we continue to Erg Laghair. Enjoy the mesmerizing silence of the desert from our camp under some big trees. Dinner will be prepared by our guides and you'll enjoy sitting around a campfire and listen to some berber music. Forth night in your tent or outside. DAY 7: Trekking to Erg Chegaga (Hiking distance 18 km)After breakfast, we'll continue our journey to reach the big dunes of Erg Chegaga, the biggest and most famous ones of the region, some over 30 m high. Climb the dunes and take some wonderful fotos of the sunset from the top. What a spectacle! Dinner will be prepared by our guides and you'll enjoy your fifth night in your tent or outside. DAY 7: Trekking to Oum Laâlag (Hiking distance 16 km) After sunrise over the grand Chegaga dunes and a nice breakfast, we continue our road to Maihat Assolah and after lunch further to the Oasis of Oum Laâlag, where we’ll spend our sixth desert night. Relax and enjoy the shining stars over the desert. DAY 8: Trekking to Bourgane (Hiking distance 16 km) After our daily rich breakfast, our goal of the day ist o reach Oued Laatache, the „river of thirst“. Our lunch break will take place near a well, which is a important stop for the nomads in the region. After lunch, we’ll continue our way in direction Bourgane, where we’ll pass our seventh night in the wilderness. DAY 9: Trekking to Oued Naâm (Hiking distance 16 km) Today, after our usual desert breakfast, we walk at our pace until we reach Oued Naâm, the „River of ostriches“, where we’ll have lunch and regain our strenghts to walk a little further until the spot where we’ll put our tents for the night in some small dunes. Here we’ll spend our eight and last night on the trekking. DAY 10: Trekking to Ouled Driss (Hiking distance 16 km) After breakfast, we start our last day of trekking over the the „Hamada du Draâ“, a plain desert landscape full of volcanic stones. After eating a delicious meal at lunch time, we'll go for the last etappe until we reach the small village Ouled Driss with its palm groves. If you’ll arrive early enough before dinner, you can visit the typical old berber village with its old houses mad of clay and small stones. Dinner will be prepared by our guides and overnight in the camping. DAY 11: Ouled Driss – Zagora – Ouarzazate – Marrakech (440 km)After an early breakfast in the camping, we'll start our drive with our 4x4 back to Ouarzazate and enjoy the views of the Draa Valley along the way. After lunch break in Ouarzazate, we'll continue our way back to Marrakech crossing the Tizi-n-Tichka pass and arrive in your Hotel/Riad in Marrakech in the evening. Individual dinner in Marrakech and overnight in your Riad in the medina. DAY 12: Departure Breakfast in your Riad and transfer to the airport for your flight back or start of your individual program.
