In this 10 hour long day tour we visit many of the most beautiful places in the southern part of Iceland. We are talking about waterfalls, glaciers, volcanoes, black sand beaches, a lovely fishing village and in the summer time we will even see puffins.On this tour we stop at two waterfalls, Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss, and then we walk towards the amazing glacier Sólheimajökull. We also go to the wonderful Reynisfjara, the black sand beach home of the puffins before the fishing village of Vík, where we will have spectacular view of the Reynisdrangar cliffs. We also take a look at the amazing Eyjafjalla*%#% something – the volcano that erupted in 2010 and put the world's flights on hold. HveragerðiThis small town is located around 40 minutes from Reykjavík renowned for it's location amongst a geothermal field! We'll stop here for a short stop at a local bakery and shopping area. There are restrooms, a bakery and an exhibition about earthquakes. GullfossOur adventure will then lead us to the breathtaking Gullfoss, aptly named the "golden waterfall," situated at the very edge of the Icelandic Highlands. Cascading gracefully within the canyon of the Hvíta River, Gullfoss is fed by the Langjökull glacier to the north, lending it a majestic aura. As a two-tiered waterfall, Gullfoss plunges an impressive 32 meters. Regardless of the season, Gullfoss captivates with its awe-inspiring beauty, making it a must-see destination on our journey through Iceland's natural wonders.GeysirOur next destination is the Geysir geothermal field, home to one of the world's most renowned geysers—the very namesake of these incredible natural wonders! Here, you'll have the chance to wander amidst bubbling water pools, crystal-clear geothermal springs, and steam vents. Keep your eyes peeled for the spectacular sight of a geyser erupting before you.Although now dormant, Geysir once held the title of the tallest geyser in history, towering an impressive 122 meters (400 ft) into the sky. But fear not, for Geysir's little brother, Strokkur, has stepped into the limelight. As the most active geyser in Iceland, Strokkur puts on a mesmerizing show, erupting every 4 to 10 minutes, ensuring you'll have plenty of opportunities to witness its breath-taking eruptions.ÞingvellirTo round out our day of fun and adventure; our last stop will be at the iconic Þingvellir (Thingvellir) National Park, where nature's wonders intertwine with rich history, creating one of Iceland's most captivating attractions. As you step into Þingvellir, you'll immediately notice its unique setting in a rift valley—a powerful reminder that our planet's crust is in constant motion.But that's not all! Here, you'll also discover Althing, Iceland's very first national parliament and breathtaking views of Þingvallavatn lake. Drop OffAfter a memorable day exploring some of Iceland's most iconic landscapes, your guide will drop you back off in Reykjavík from your chosen drop off location.
This action-packed full-day adventure begins in Reykjavík. Loaded on one of the comfort buses, you will be treated to breathtaking views of West Iceland before we even get to our first stop. Snaefellsnes Peninsula has made a name for itself for its unusual and diverse landscapes. As we make our way to the first stop, we will ride across the moss-covered lava fields of Berserkjahraun. Viking legend has it that this is where two Swedish "berserkers" (members of rival tribes) created Iceland's first road. During your time in Iceland, you will learn that folklore still has a huge impact on modern-day culture and sites. Located on the northern side of the Snæfellsnes Peninsula, the first attraction of the day is the "arrowhead" mountain – Kirkjufell. The mountain protrudes from the ocean at 463 meters (1,519 feet) and towers over a fishing village below. With its unique shape and reflective effect in the water below, Kirkjufell is extremely popular with photographers. You won't want to forget your camera for this stop – not to mention the mountain is surrounded by some epic waterfalls. Our next stop will be the cinematic Djúpalónssandur black pebble beach. Here your guide will treat you to some fascinating stories about local shipwrecks while you enjoy some awesome beach views. Fishing villages are a key feature of any coastal tour in Iceland. For our excursion, we will stop in the charming town of Arnarstapi. Visit the town’s highlight Miðgjá bridge, a natural rock arch off the coast, and experience life away from the hustle and bustle. Just east of town, we'll stop at Búðakirkja, a lovely 19th-century church and of course check out the seals in Ytri-Tunga. The journey back to Reykjavík is just as scenic as the departure. We will travel across more dynamic lava fields, some of which are home to basalt columns. These fascinating formations are geometric works of art made by mother nature herself. Borgarnes – one of Iceland's many charming villages – will be our last stop before arriving at the capital. Here, we will grab a famous Icelandic hot dog or other refreshments – the perfect end to an amazing day!

Join a day tour from Reykjavík to Vestmannaeyjar Islands. This tour is filled with beautiful scenery, sea cliffs and volcanoes.
