One unique feature of this waterfall is the opportunity to walk behind it, offering a truly immersive experience. Just 500 meters to the northwest lies another hidden gem, Gljúfrabúi, a stunning waterfall well worth the walk.✓ Skógafoss – Witness the grandeur of Skógafoss, one of the country's largest waterfalls, boasting an impressive width of 25 meters and a breathtaking drop of 60 meters. On sunny days, the spray from the waterfall often creates a single or double rainbow.✓ Reynisfjara: The Famous Black Beach – a black pebble beach with striking basalt column cliffs. Out to sea, you can see the basalt sea stacks known as Reynisdrangar. This area is rich in birdlife, including the beloved puffins, fulmars, and guillemots.✓ Dyrhólaey – A 10-minute walk to the top of the 120-meter-high peninsula, featuring a distinctive hole through it. From this vantage point, you will be treated to a truly spectacular view. To the north, you will see Mýrdalsjökull glacier. To the east, the black lava columns emerging from the sea as the Reynisdrangar come into view. Finally, to the west, the entire coastline leading towards Selfoss unfolds, providing a panoramic view, subject to weather conditions.✓ Vík: A Village – The village is on route on the south coast, known for its stretch of black basalt sand, church, and small town vibes.
