The cave runs 42 km into the Tennengebirge mountains, and its first kilometre is filled with ice. You walk it by lamplight with a cave guide.8-hour option: the ice caves plus Hohenwerfen Fortress, the 11th-century castle above Werfen that film fans know from Where Eagles Dare, with its falconry show, and time for lunch in Werfen village.Good to know: it is an active day. There are about 1,400 steps inside the cave and around 40 minutes of uphill walking to reach it, and the cave stays near 0 degrees all summer. Up to 6 guests per vehicle.

A private day for the two of you, with a local driver-guide and a glass of Austrian Sekt to welcome you in the car.In Salzburg we walk the old town together: the Cathedral, the lanes of the Getreidegasse and the Mirabell Gardens, with time up at the fortress and on the Moenchsberg for the view over the rooftops. Then we drive out to the lakes, to Fuschlsee, St. Gilgen and St. Wolfgang on Lake Wolfgang, and back to Salzburg for the evening.We reserve a table for you at a romantic restaurant for dinner (the meal itself is paid on the spot). If you would like a horse-drawn carriage ride through the old town, tell us and we arrange it as an extra.

Up to 6 guests per vehicle.We drive through the Salzkammergut lake district, past Lake Wolfgang and through Bad Ischl, the old summer town of Emperor Franz Joseph, to Hallstatt on its lake below the Dachstein. In Hallstatt you have about 2 hours: we show you the quieter lanes and the best viewpoints over the lake, and tell you the story of the village, where salt has been mined for more than 7,000 years.Good to know: our timing avoids the busiest hours of the day buses where we can. If you want to visit the salt mine above the village, tell us when you book and we plan the extra time.

Up to 6 guests per vehicle.In Salzburg we walk the old town together: Mozart's birthplace on the Getreidegasse, the Cathedral, the Mirabell Gardens from the Sound of Music, Hellbrunn Palace and the views of the fortress. If you would rather see the lakes and mountains of the Salzkammergut, we plan the day that way instead.Good to know: it is about 1.5 to 2 hours each way by car, so the day runs about 10 hours.
