CV-IT Guided tour to Edinburgh Castle - Italian Tour Guide
Going up the Royal Mile we arrive at the esplanade of the castle from which we can admire a magnificent panorama of the city. We will then cross the outer walls of the Castle and see how, as Edinburgh gained importance in the history of Scotland, its castle grew larger and lived at the center of events that marked the United Kingdom.
The most visited monument in Scotland was also the stage of its history. Its walls speak of Celts, Romans, Robert the Bruce and William Wallace, the Court of Maria Stuarda, the Honors of Scotland and the Stone of Destiny. In his museums we find evidence of life in the army and of the military activity of the United Kingdom
The fortress stands imposingly on the crater of an ancient volcano. City life began to develop around this volcano in 900 BC approximately and in 600 AD the first fortress was born. The wood became stone, a shelter for kings and the main objective of the English. After the last Jacobite siege in 1745, the fortress abandoned its defensive functions to become a national symbol, which receives more than a million visitors every year.
In this visit we will see the main buildings of the castle. We will talk about the Honors of Scotland, the Stone of Destiny of legends, murders, wars, sieges and prisoners of war and the mysteries that are hidden among these ancient stones.
