Oslo Fjord Exploration: Day Trip with Island Landing
Welcome aboard for a great day out on the water!Available as a 6 or 8 hour experience.We start this adventure with a gentle cruise of the beautiful Oslo waterfront passing all of the main sights, including Oslo City Hall, the Akershus Fortress, Bjørvika with the fabulous Oslo Opera house and Edward Munch Museum.Continuing past Sørenga, we will proceed to take in the views of some of the picturesque islands of the inner Harbour area, including Hovedøya, Bleikøya, Gressholmen, Langøyene and Lindøya, before we pick up the pace and set course for an island landing on one of the many islands outside Sandvika where the afternoon is enjoyed bathing, relaxing, and enjoying a picnic which you brought along, or your skipper arranged for your (on request).Alternatively, and weather permitting, we could go as far out as Håøya to visit the very friendly cashmere goats who spend there summers there, or to the Oscarborg fortress and learn about what happened there when Norway was invaded April 9th 1940. On our way there we may catch a glimpse of sea eagles and seals. Even porpoise and dolphins are known to be spotted out here! Join us for an unforgettable fishing experience in the outer reaches of the Oslo Fjord!Starting off with a gentle cruise putting Oslo City harbour behind us, enjoying the fresh sea air and maybe a cup of fresh coffee as we adjust our heading for some of Salty Beard's secret fishing spots towards the outer parts of the Oslo Fjord.This trip has a minimum duration of 6 hours, as it requires a 1,5 hours boat ride from Oslo city.We will never claim to be expert anglers, but we do have a few tricks up our sleeve, and we always have a great time out on the water. All equipment is provided, but feel free to bring your own if you wish.Although no guarantees are possible, we often have amazing wildlife encounters with eagles, whale, seal, dolphin and more.Let us know if you are looking for an expert fishing guide to come along - we can arrange that too.We normally advise our guests to bring along some snack or food for a picnic onboard, but if you would like us to organise that just let us know in the comments during checkout and we will make arrangements.This outing can easily be combined with sightseeing, custom pick-ups or drop-offs, or other special wishes you may have.Please note we will always operate well within the legal requirements. Lobster Safari (From Son or Moss)
Oslo's best kept secret!Starting off with a gentle cruise putting Oslo City harbour behind us, enjoying the fresh autumn air and a cup of fresh coffee as we adjust our heading for Salty Beard's secret lobster pot spots.Your skipper will have placed the pots a few days in advance, and today they will hopefully return a good catch.The main event of this trip is to see what the ocean brings us from the deep.We may catch lobster, crab, various fish, and maybe some surpises which we haven't seen before.During the experience we often make some interesting wildflife encounters, and may spot eagles (Osprey), seal, wale (porpoise), and other local wildlife.This trip doubles as a sightseeing tour of the harbour and island, and will give you great views of the city waterfront from the water.As we round off the afternoon your skipper will take you back to Oslo city centre where we startedPlease note we will always operate well within the legal requirements. Rules and regulations may change. We cannot guarantee lobster. Lobster fishing is only allowed during the months of October and November.

Welcome aboard for a great day out on the water, and a visit to the historic fortress of Oscarsborg!We'll start off as we normally do with a tour of the beautiful Oslo sea front passing some of the main sights, including Oslo City Hall, the Akershus Fortress, Bjørvika with the fabulous Oslo Opera house, and Edward Munch Museum. Continuing past Sørenga taking in the views of the picturesque islands of the inner Harbour area, as we head south passing through the myriad of islands outside Sandvika eventually reaching Oscarborg, located on the island of Kaholmen.En route we may catch a glimpse of sea eagles and seals. Even porpoise and dolphins are known to be spotted out here.We'll spend the next few hours exploring the island and the fortress museum by foot, before settling down for a snack, a drink, or a meal at one of the restaurants on the island.Eventually, we'll have to set course back towards Oslo which is a 45 minute sunset cruise away. Overnight Adventure with Island Glamping
Welcome aboard for an Oslo Fjord overnight adventure! A family friendly, hassle-free island glamping experience.Day 1:We start this adventure with a gentle cruise of the beautiful Oslo waterfront passing all of the main sights, including Oslo City Hall, the Akershus Fortress, Bjørvika with the fabulous Oslo Opera house and Edward Munch Museum. Continuing past Sørenga, we will proceed to take in the views of some of the picturesque islands of the inner Harbour area, including Hovedøya, Bleikøya, Gressholmen, Langøyene and Lindøya. The journey continues across the bay to the Sandvika archipelago where we will get up close to the many water front houses along the shoreline and islands there. At this point, we may want to stop for a swim to cool off before we pick up the pace and set course for Håøya to visit the very friendly cashmere goats who spend their summers there. Håøya has a charming cafe and bakery and the best island served cinnamon buns in the Oslo Fjord, along with other speciality foods (and ice cream, ofcourse).Once we feel ready to move on, we will keep heading south through the sound of Drøbak, heading for Løvøya island, where your glamping host will welcome you and get you settled in. Løvøya has beautiful hikes, beaches for bathing, activities for kids, and a cafe.For dinner, you have the choice of the local cafe which has an informal, varied menu, or visit one of the restaurants in the nearby towns of Horten or Åsgårdstrand. High-end dining is available, and can be booked on your behalf upon request.Day 2:After a pleasant evening and a comfortable nights sleep, breakfast at the cafe will get us set up for another magnificent day on the water. We may begin with a tour of the inner harbour of Horten, before we head due east towards Moss, and pass through the quirky little channel. Continuing north through Mossesundet, a seafood lunch in the town of Son may tempt us, either as a sit down or a take away, before we head for Oscarsborg.The history of what happened in the Oslo Fjord when Norway was invaded April 9th 1940 is present in many of the places you will visit, but none more than Oscarsborg Fortress where the shots that sunk german warship Blucher were fired from. An interesting visit for both young and old. With Salty Beard it is never flat!Oslo is not a surf city, but with large areas of water protected from wind and waves and little other boat traffic the Oslo Fjord is perfect for wake surfing.Our boat creates a deep surfable wave, which we adjust according to group size and experience level.Bring your friends, suit up, and let's go wake surfing!We supply all the equipment - all you need is your bathing shorts/suit and a towel.This is what your experience may look like:- Pick-up at Honnørbrygga in front of Oslo City Hall. Other pickups available on request.- 20 minute boat ride out to our water sports centre at Malmøya.- Safety briefing- Introduction to wake surfing - Wetsuits on, and head out to find the best spot depending on direction of wind.- Wake surf!- Head back to unload wetsuits and boardsOPTIONAL Wake Surf with Après-Surf (6 hours):Relax in the jacuzzi and enjoy a refreshing drink while our chef fires up the BBQ and prepares you a meal. Outer Oslo Fjord Fishing Trip with Overnight Island Glamping
Combine island glamping with outer oslo fjord fishing in this best of both worlds experience!This trip starts off going fast for 2 hours due south until we reach the outer parts of the Oslo Fjord where the water reaches depths of 200-300 meters.We will spend the day fishing at depths of 50-300 meters hoping to catch BIG, and see species we don't see every day.As the evening approaches we will make our way to our camp for the night: Løvøya, where confortable glamping awaits. Your host will be happy to cook your catch for you, and make it an evening you won't forget.The next day, we will head out to new spots for more fishing before we eventually set our course north and towards Oslo. Arriving at our final destination around 16.00.This outing can easily be combined with island landings, sightseeing, custom pick-ups or drop-offs, or other special wishes you may have.Please note we will always operate well within the legal requirements. Once we have pulled our pots, we will make our way to a nearby seaside location for an outdoor meal with the freshest seafood imaginable - a true seafood culinary feast.
