Pisa/Chianti Half Day Tour with Wine Tasting

Itinerary: • Meet our driver at the meeting point in via del Curtatone N. 9 (near the American Embassy) in front of the Gamberini bar. It will be waiting for you with a welcome sign. • In the morning, we will visit the city of Pisa and the incredible Leaning Tower. Admire the rolling hills and landscapes of the region and sample wines in Montepulciano and Montalcino.Spend a day within the iconic landscape of the Tuscan hills, visit Montepulciano and its historic cellars. Admire the landscape of the rolling hills of the Val d'Orcia, taking pictures like in postcards, among avenues of cypresses, vineyards and olive trees. In the afternoon, taste the famous Brunello di Montalcino. Itinerary: Meet our driver at your location and start your tour in the Tuscan hills. We will cross the hills, among vineyards, olive trees and rows of cypresses, until we reach the city of Montepulciano, to visit the "Underground Wonders" of the town. We will visit the main square of the town, the ancient Government Palace and a Historic Cellar: here you will find gigantic oak barrels, in which the famous Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG and Rosso di Montepulciano DOC "rest". In Montepulciano you will have your first wine tasting experience with Vino Nobile, Super Tuscan and Rosso di Montepulciano. For lunch, our driver will be able to suggest a typical Tuscan farmhouse, where to have a delicious Tuscan lunch. After lunch, we will cross one of the most beautiful wine roads, between postcard hills and incredible vineyards until we arrive in Montalcino for a wine tasting in a prestigious farm, where this delicious wine has been produced for generations. In fact, this family was one of the first to start the production of Brunello and has maintained over time a very high quality and a passion that has been handed down for generations. After the visit of the cellar and an explanation on the production of Brunello, the tasting will begin. Here we will taste 5 types of wines, including Rosso di Montalcino. Two types of Brunello Docg a Super Tuscan and a delicious Rosé. At the end of the tasting, we will return to Florence.

We will visit the historic center of San Gimignano and its ancient towers. At lunch, feast with homemade pasta or lasagna and enjoy 6 of the best wines of our region in a typical Tuscan farmhouse. Itinerary: 1 Stop At: Piazzas Michelangelo The driver will pick you up at your location (hotel, B&B or private apartment) and take you on a journey through the rolling hills of Tuscany. If you have not yet visited the most panoramic point of Florence, Piazzale Michelangelo, will be the first stop. You can take some beautiful photos of Florence. Michelangelo Plaza (Piazzale Michelangelo) is a square with a panoramic view of Florence. The square, dedicated to the Renaissance sculptor Michelangelo, has bronze copies of some of his marble works found elsewhere in Florence: the David and the four allegories of the Medici Chapel of San Lorenzo. Duration: 20 minutes 2 Stop At: San Gimignano The tour continues through the sweet Chianti hills, among olive groves, cypress trees and vineyards, up to the medieval town of San Gimignano. The visit of the town and its magnificent towers will take about an hour. San Gimignano is a small walled medieval hill town not far from Siena. Known as the “Town of Fine Towers”, during the Middle Ages there were more than 70 towers in the city. Now it is a real open-air museum, where it seems to walk in the medieval period. The town is known for saffron, the Golden Ham, and its white wine: “Vernaccia di San Gimignano”, produced from the ancient variety of Vernaccia grape which is grown on the sandstone hillsides of the area. In the main square don’t forget to taste the best ice cream in the world (Gelateria Dondoli), and in the streets of the village you can admire the extraordinary work of expert craftsmen. If you like, you can climb the tower museum (Torre Rognosa) and see a magnificent view of the Tuscan hills.
