From there we continue to a small village called Koppelo.Snowmobiles and sledges are waiting for you there, the journey starts to a secret fishing place. You can enjoy unique landscape while you travel in the comfort of a sleigh pulled by a snowmobile.Experienced local guide will give you instructions for Ice Fishing. You will receive your own fishing rod and you can start fishing in a true Lappish style.You will use either a worm or a maggot to catch the fish.After fishing we will drive to our small island where owners of this small family, Tina & Tapio lives.You will get glimpse of local life in the island. Embark on a unique adventure to experience the daily life of reindeer herders and meet reindeer in their natural forest environment.Full descriptionWe are local reindeer herders, and we invite you to join us in our daily work! Embark on a unique adventure to experience the daily life of reindeer herders and meet reindeer in their natural forest environment.  Our journey starts early in the morning - we will pick you up from your accommodation and drive about half an hour to our starting point. From there, you’ll travel through the wilderness in a sleigh pulled by a snowmobile to reach the reindeer herd where you can join the feeding of hundreds of reindeer and learn about the traditional livelihood.  After feeding the reindeer, we will build a fire in the forest, grill sausages, and share insights into reindeer herding and the local culture.

Aurora Hunting by Minivan

Looking for an easy way to hunt for the Northern Lights? Join our convenient minivan tour to chase the auroras! We’ll pick you up from your accommodation and take you on a three-hour journey through the Ivalo, Inari, or Saariselkä areas to find the auroras. Along the way, we’ll stop at the best potential spots to catch the Northern Lights.This activity includes roasting sausages over an open fire, along with tea, hot chocolate, or homemade hot berry juice.  The ride lasts approximately two hours, and the time by the open fire is about one hour. Perfect for those who want to search for the Northern Lights with local guides, visiting unforgettable spots while staying comfortably warm in a cozy car.In October, our Northern Lights tours will be done by car (4x4 vehicle) instead of a minibus.

Reindeer Fence Visit

For this day adventure, we welcome you to our reindeer fence to visit the reindeer, grill sausages, and enjoy hot berry juice in the traditional hut in the fence. You will meet our home reindeer who stay in the enclosure to survive the winter. We'll also share insights about reindeer herding and local culture. This activity is located next to Ivalo Airport, making it possible to enjoy a short visit before your flight!

On The Couple Safari we drive by snowmobile in the Northern pine forest along the snowmobile route around Ivalo area. The snowmobile safari begins with a short instruction about the snowmobile driving and safety by the guide. If we are lucky we see reindeer along the snowmobile route. We could take photos of them. During the safari we take a short rest and enjoy tea and cookies. A child sitting on a snowmobile must be at least 140 cm tall.We ask you to inform us, if you have any food-allergies or a special diet. For security reasons, we also ask you to contact us, if you suffer from a disease, that might have an effect on your performance during the trip. (For example: asthma, diabetes or epilepsy).To be allowed to drive a snowmobile, you need to have driving license for a car.

Ice-fishing safari by ELECTRIC CAR to the wilderness lake

We depart the fishing trip from Ivalo village. We will drive by car to the shore of a nice wilderness lake and take a short walk to our ice-fishing place. Aurora Borealis Express BY ELECTRIC CAR

The Aurora Borealis, more commonly referred to as the "northern lights", is a natural phenomenon that occurs when solar activity releases a cloud of gas that is drawn into the earth´s magnetic fields, creating charged particles that collide with oxygen and nitrogen atoms in the upper atmosphere.On this safari we will drive by car from Ivalo village to "hunt" Aurora Borealis. Our professional local photographer drives you to the best places as he can, depending on the weather.  It's possible to see the Northern Lights only during the clear sky and when the daylight is gone; the safaris are not to be arranged during the totally cloudy weather. If the sky is partly cloudy we hunt for the clear spots on the sky.The trip is made with an emission-free electric car.

THE ICE FISHING BY SNOWMOBILE to lake Inari

This excursion depart from the Ivalo village. We drive by snowmobiles to the Lake Inarijärvi or some forest lake for ice-fishing. If we are lucky, we could get some greyling or perch. We couldn´t guarantee a sure catch, but we can promise fresh air, new experiences and good feeling!  A child sitting on a snowmobile must be at least 140 cm tall.We ask you to inform us, if you have any food-allergies or a special diet. A Day in the Life of Reindeer Herders

Spend a day as a real reindeer herder and explore the wilderness by experiencing Finnish winter fishing methods. Join us to feed the large reindeer herd in their natural habitat.We'll take you into the forest seated in a snowmobile sleigh to feed a large herd of reindeer in their natural habitat. After this, you'll have the chance to try traditional winter fishing methods, such as fishing with nets under the ice and ice fishing!We'll enjoy a homemade lunch on an open fire in the wilderness. The lunch includes creamy reindeer soup or a vegan wild mushroom soup, served with cold water and homemade hot berry juice.The minimum number of participants for this activity is two. The activity will only take place if the minimum number is met. We will notify you about the confirmation of the activity 12 hours in advance.

THE FELL SAFARI TO SAARISELKÄ BY SNOWMOBILE

The Fell Safari to Saariselkä Holiday Resort from Ivalo is suitable for sporty people, because of a 80 kilometres driving distance. The guided snowmobile safari leads along the snowmobile route through the pine forest to the Saariselkä fell area. If we are lucky, we could see reindeer near by the snowmobile route. Tour starts from the harbour of Koppelo village located 10 kilometers from Ivalo. Transport is possible from Ivalo area ( 10 € / person ) and Saariselkä ( 25 € / person ).We will provide warm clothing and shoes, as well as life jacket for the boat ride.Tina and Tapio will be your guide, Tapio is experienced captain of the 9 meters long boat. Tinas family has been living in the area for generations and by joining the tour you will get a glimpse of authentic lappish lifestyle.Boat is registered for 10 person and there is warm heated cabin and also a toilet.After safety instructions boat tour will start from the harbour to the island where Tina and Tapio is living.In the island we will make fire in lappish teepee and enjoy hot blackberry juice. Lappish BBQ is including traditional sausages, reindeer sausages, warm "Rieska" ( finnish flatbread ), homemade potato salad and blueberry pie. Reindeer herd and Winter Fishing Experience

Experience the work of a reindeer herder and Finnish winter fishing on the same day!Your day starts early in the morning. We’ll pick you up from Ivalo, such as from your hotel, and drive by car to the starting point of the activity. From there, we continue by snowmobile to the reindeer herd which consists of hundreds of reindeer. You’ll have the chance to photograph the reindeer and take part in feeding them.After feeding, we head to a nearby lake where you can try traditional fishing methods, such as checking fishing nets and ice fishing. A warm traditional Sami hut awaits nearby, where we’ll serve lunch. The lunch is homemade reindeer soup or vegan wold mushroom soup, served with fresh cold water and warm homemade berry juice. After the activities, we’ll drive you back to the starting point. The experience lasts about six hours and accommodates a maximum of eight people. The minimum group size for the activity is two people. Please note that the activity can only be arranged if there are at least two participants.

Nightless Night Fishing Trip in the Wilderness

Experience a nightless night in the wilderness! In Lapland the sun is up 24 hours from May to August and midnight is the best time to go fishing.We pick you up by car from Ivalo, from where we travel about half an hour to the wilderness from where we continue walking about two kilometers to the lake.You can try spin fishing with our equipment, or you can bring your own. During the trip we enjoy hot drinks and fry sausages on an open fire. Day Hike

Join local guides for a journey to stunning fell landscapes!This easy few-hour day hike includes beautiful Lapland forests and fell scenery. During the trip, we will take a lunch break and enjoy the far-reaching views from the top of the fell. No heavy loads, but the activity requires a good basic fitness level.We pick you up by car from your accommodation, from where we continue by walking about 3–6 kilometers depending on the group's pace and fitness. After the trip, we will transport you back to you accommodation. The duration is around 3 hours, depending of the pick up place.

While there are no showers in this type of traditional sauna, you are provided buckets of heated river water for washing.
