We start with the visit to the Postojna Cave, a 20 km-long karst cave system, a web of underground passages, galleries and chambers. Only 10 km further, perched on a 123 meters high cliff, stands the Predjama Castle, more than 700 years old. Continuing to Štanjel, this little karst village on hilltop remains up to this day. Throughout history, first the Romans turned the top of the hill into an ancient fort, while in the Middle Ages the village expanded over the hill. The most dominant features of the village are the Castle and the Church of St. Daniel. While walking through the narrow streets, the houses built in stone are telling you the story of the life there.
