Bled in the Julian Alps could be a setting for a classic fairy tale: immense natural beauty with mountains and forest surrounding an emerald glacial lake, an island in the middle of the lake with a church steeple and its wishing bell, a cliff-top castle with picturesque views and a well-known sweet treat. Bled, together with its surroundings, ranks among the most beautiful alpine resorts and is renowned also for its mild, healing climate and thermal lake water. The tour of Bled includes a visit to the Bled Castle, which is the oldest in Slovenia, and a boat ride to the charming Bled Island in a traditional wooden boat called Pletna to visit the St. Maria Church and ring the wishing bell.

This full-day guided tour will take you to Radovljica first, a picturesque old town situated on a hilltop. The compact city center is a veritable open-air museum of nicely restored buildings, narrow sloping streets and pleasant sidewalk cafés. It is also ‘’the town of honey’’. Nearby, the Lectar Inn houses a unique live museum where you will have a chance to learn the handicraft of honey bread (Lectar) making. Lake Bohinj, the largest lake in Slovenia, lies in the protected area of the Triglav National Park, the only Slovenian national park and one of the oldest in Europe. It was named after Triglav, the highest mountain in the heart of the park. The park prides itself on beautiful mountains and meadows, pure waters, deep cut gorges, remains of virgin forests and picturesque alpine villages scattered in the upper and lower Bohinj valley. Driving through these small villages you will see the ancient hayracks in Studor, and visit Oplen’s house, a typical old peasant's cottage with a chimney- less 'black kitchen' that has been turned into a museum focusing on the domestic life of peasants in the Bohinj area.
