Conduct game viewing during the drive and continue to Seronera area. Arrive at the campsite in the late afternoon for dinner and overnight at Seronera/Serengeti campsite.
Tips from local experts:
- Expect a long transfer (about 4–6 hours). Bring motion-sickness remedies and secure young children; infant seats are not available.
- Pack a small daybag with sun protection, refillable water bottle, and wet wipes — restrooms on the route and at public campsites can be basic.
- Carry photocopies of passports and park permits in your daypack; keep original documents in a secure place at your Arusha hotel.
Day 2

Full day game drives in Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, spend the day on morning and afternoon game drives across the Seronera/central Serengeti plains. The guide will position drives based on wildlife movements; packed picnic lunches provided. Return to the Seronera campsite for dinner and overnight.
Tips from local experts:
- Dress in layers for early morning drives (temperatures can be cool) and bring a hat and sunscreen for midday.
- Keep snacks and activities for children (short drives can be long); request seating arrangements in advance to keep families together in the safari vehicle.
- Binoculars and a small camera with extra batteries or power bank are useful; ensure memory cards are cleared before the day's drives.
Day 3
Early morning game drive in Serengeti, then drive to Ngorongoro Crater rim with lunch and wildlife viewing en route.
Serengeti (early drive) → Ngorongoro Crater Rim (transfer & en-route game viewing)
Early wake for a short pre-breakfast game drive (around 06:00). Return for breakfast by 09:00, check out and depart Serengeti. Drive toward Ngorongoro with picnic lunch and game viewing along the route. Arrive at the Ngorongoro Crater rim area in the late afternoon. Dinner and overnight at the designated campsite near the Ngorongoro rim.
Tips from local experts:
- Morning drives start before sunrise; bring a warm layer for early hours and a waterproof layer if rain is forecast.
- Car seats for infants are unavailable — secure infants in sling carriers or hold them safely during short drives as advised by the guide.
- Fuel and basic supplies are limited inside parks; bring any personal medications and a spare supply of essential items before departure.
Day 4
Descend to Ngorongoro Crater floor for a full-day game drive; return to Arusha in the afternoon/evening.
Ngorongoro Crater floor game drive and return to Arusha
Breakfast and depart campsite by 07:30 to descend into Ngorongoro Crater for a full-day game drive. Enjoy wildlife viewing on the crater floor with a picnic lunch at Ngoitoktok or a designated picnic site. After afternoon viewing, ascend the crater and drive back to Arusha for drop-off at your hotel or Arusha Airport.
Tips from local experts:
- Crater descent/ascent includes steep roads; secure small children and strollers are not suitable — plan to carry infants if needed.
- Bring insect repellent and sun protection; shade is limited on the crater floor and mid-day sun can be strong.
- Allow extra time for the return transfer to Arusha; flights or onward travel should be booked with ample buffer after scheduled drop-off.
